J-Man loves to learn. I know that may sounds strange for a 10 year old boy but he is really at that age where he eats knowledge up. And since two of his favorite subjects are science and math, I’ve been looking for a way to incorporate that into his Christmas gifts. But that is easier said that done. Because while he loves learning, he also wants it to be fun. He doesn’t want to simply sit and read books but instead wants the learning to come to life and that is exactly what we found with Zometool!
The mathematical universe lives all around us. New ideas, forms, and methods exist everywhere, ready to be introduced into human culture. It just takes someone who can see what is there and make something out of it.
I love this quote because it completely encompasses what Zometool is. It is a way to encourage creativity and learning with the builder’s brain being the limit! With Zometool, you receive a box full of colorful parts that are used to help you learn and create as well as an instructional booklet.
You then can use the pieces to create molecules, geometric shapes and more. The thing that I love about Zometool is that they allow creations to be three dimensional. Instead of having a flat picture to look at, your child (or you) is able to create a model that instantly becomes larger than life. By connecting the balls and rods, your child will watch in wonder as their image comes to life in front of them in ways they could never have imagined.
J-Man was instantly entranced by Zometool. He loved the simplicity of putting together his creations. But with so many ways to build and create he was constantly challenged to see what he could make. And it was made even more fun by the fact that he could learn as he built instead of just following directions. He quickly began to go online to get ideas of items that he could make, simply be attaching the parts and watching it take shape before his eyes.
The parts were the perfect size for his hands and I loved how his creativity was instantly sparked. We have long thought that he would love engineering because of his love of building and this has helped to fan that spark in him that encourages him to learn, create and grow.
You can find the perfect Zometool for your child by choosing from their amazing kits. Recommended for children ages 6 and up (and even adults too) these kits will encourage creativity and make learning fun. In fact, Dr. Toy named Creator 3 and Ice Crystals & Stars her 2012 Best Picks Winners and Creative Child Awards gave Creator 1 its 2012 Top Toy of the Award in the Build Construction Category and 2012 Kids Product of the Year Award in the Kids Educational Product Category. But it gets even better! Since the kits are made in Colorado, they were inducted into the Made in the USA Hall of Fame by the Made in the USA Foundation. Now, that is something we should all support! So, hurry on over and grab your Zometool today! Be sure to use the code ADVENTURES for 15% off your purchase!
But wait! One of my lucky readers is going to win an awesome Zometool Kit to get your child excited about learning! The winner will get to choose either the Crazy Bubbles or Pyramid Puzzles. This would make a truly awesome and unique stocking stuffer for your child!
