Last week, I made Valentine’s Day cards by hand. And while they turned out super cute, I wanted to create something a little different to give to grandparents and family. So, I looked around my home and took stock of what items I actually put up. And while I display my cards briefly, the things that I can stick to my fridge are the things that stick around forever. So, I thought what if I could make a Valentine’s Day craft that could be given in the place of a card and enjoyed for quite some time. And as I watched J-Man work on a school project using Popsicle sticks, it came to me! So, I pulled out my supplies and started working on a custom Magnetic Valentine’s Day picture frame made out of Popsicle sticks! Here’s how you can make one too!
Valentine’s Day Magnetic Popsicle Stick Picture Frames
What You Will Need
Red and Pink Paint
Sticky Felt Hearts
Hot Glue Gun
How to Make It
Start by putting together the back of your picture frame. Using your hot glue gun, create a flat surface by attaching two Popsicle sticks long way across a row of vertical Popsicle sticks.
Flip your picture frame base over and glue your favorite picture in.
Set your base with your picture on it aside and paint 8 Popsicle sticks red.
Once your popsicle sticks are dry, attach two to each side of the frame with your hot glue gun. Make sure to glue them far enough out that you can’t see the base behind them.
Then attach the other four sticks, two on each side to complete the frame.
Now, flip over your picture frame and attach a large magnet to the back of it so that it covers the majority of the back surface.
Next, paint two of your hearts pink. Allow them to dry and then attach a red felt heart to the center of each one.
Finally attach your hearts to two of your corners, making sure they are on diagonal corners from each other.
Allow your picture frame to dry and it’s ready to display or give as a gift!
And since it can be perfect displayed on the fridge, it’s the perfect gift to say I love you all year long!
