My kiddos love finger foods. And let’s be honest, it fun for the hubs and I to have foods that are perfect for eating in front of the TV every once in a while. And one of the things that we love in our house is chicken wings (or as the kiddos call them “chicken knees” – LOL). But often when we pick them up from our favorite local restaurant, they are dripping in grease and fried under the sauce – which doesn’t exactly scream healthy! So, I decided to try out a new recipe that would be lower fat and higher taste. Not to mention very little work on my part! Here’s how you can make Crock Pot chicken wings too – they are so easy they pretty much cook themselves!
Crock Pot Chicken Wings Recipe
What You Will Need
1 and 1/2 Pounds Tyson Chicken Wings
2 Cups of Bar-B-Q Sauce
3 Tablespoons of Spicy Mustard
1 Tablespoon of Honey
1/2 Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 Cup of Hot Sauce
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
How to Make Them
Start by laying out your chicken on a baking sheet and lightly coating it with olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.
Broil them on high for 10 minutes in your oven. Then turn them over, coat the other side and repeat. Once your 20 minutes is done, place the chicken in the crock pot.
Next, mix up your sauce. To do this, mix together your Bar-B-Q sauce, honey, spicy mustard, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. You can increase or decrease the amount of hot sauce depending on how much of a kick you want your wings to have. Once you have mixed your sauce well, pour it over the top of your chicken.
Allow them to cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or low for 4 to 6 hours, stirring them occasionally so that your sauce coats them all evenly. Remove them from the crock post and serve them with celery and ranch or blue cheese dressing!
These are a perfect treat for nights when you are in a hurry or when you have groups of kids over! J-Man and his friends adore them and can eat a whole crock pot full by themselves!
So, cook ’em up without much fuss and serve a treat you’ll love to eat! Enjoy!

Your recipe definitely looks easy to prepare. Sadly, I don’t own a crock pot, but your recipe gives me another reason to consider rectifying that. Thanks!

My family is going to love this recipe. Thanks for sharing it.
LOVE this idea! I’m a slave to the crockpot on swim practice nights & piano lesson nights. Never thought to cook wings in there!
These are so popular with the whole fam. Tomorrow I’m using the sauce on top of some cheap (read gamey) leg quarters. I figure the spice and strong flavors will disguise the taste, and slow cooking may help the meat be more tender. Thanks!
I have done these before and they are great- just watch how long they cook or they fall off the bone and its a bit of a mess 🙂
