With Mother’s Day less than 3 weeks away, we kicking our present creation mode into high gear! And I know you all know how much I LOVE clothes pins. So, the other day when I saw the idea of creating a flower pot out of clothes pins at my son’s school, I knew I had to do it! But I wanted to make it more Springy. And cheerful. So, I put together this colorful clothes pin flower pot that would make a lovely Mother’s Day present!
What You Will Need
An Empty Peanut Jar (or something similar in size)
Clothes Pins
Paint and Paint Brushes
Small Potted Flower of Your Choice
How to Make It
Start by cutting your plastic peanut jar (or whatever you are using – a plastic water bottler works as well). You want to give yourself enough room to attach your clothes pins but not have it be too high so that they don’t reach the bottom. I pulled the hubby in to help with this step because I don’t do well with cutting things while avoiding my own fingers.
Next, allow your child to paint your clothes pins different colors. Use bright Spring colors to make it look fabulous with a bright flower.
After all your clothes pins are painted, allow them to dry completely. Once they are dry, arrange them in a pattern around your plastic bottom. Simple clip each clothes pin straight up onto the plastic base.
Finally, put a small potted flower down into your pot for a finished look that mom is sure to love! I love bright daisies and they are not hard to keep alive so they really make a great flower for this cute flower pot.
Then, present this sweet homemade treat to her on Mother’s Day and her love for you is sure to bloom;-)
Happy Crafting!
Great idea! My toddler could easily paint the clothespins for this gift for her Nana! 🙂
