I can’t believe that summer is starting to wind down! And while we still have plenty of warm days left, I’m starting to think of transitioning the decor in my home to a more fall-ready one. And that starts with the wreath on my door. So, earlier this week I went in search of some supplies to create a cute and simple fall wreath. Now, I’m often all about really fancy ideas but sometimes less is more and that’s the theme I’m going with this fall – starting with my front door. After looking at a few different ideas and searching out some inspiration, I settled on a classically cute idea that is the perfect mixture of shabby and chic. Here’s how you can make an easy and beautiful burlap wreath for your front door as well!
What You Will Need
Pre-made Straw Wreath
Burlap
Flower Accent
Hot Glue Gun
How to Make It
Start by removing all the plastic packaging from your straw wreath. Then remove any loose pieces. Once you have done that, choose a starting point and attach the end of your burlap to the back of your wreath with hot glue. Start wrapping your burlap around your wreath, overlapping it slightly and pulling it tight as you go.
Continue to do this all the way around, pulling and tucking your burlap so that it has an even and smooth appearance. Once you have covered the entire wreath, fold your piece of burlap in half and secure the end with hot glue. The last section will look slightly different than the pattern on the rest of the wreath but don’t worry, that will soon be covered!
Your wreath will now look something like this:
You’re now ready to add your flower accent. You can either use the top of an artificial flower or a flower clip – I prefer a clip since it is easy to attach directly to the burlap. Make sure it is large enough to cover the difference in pattern on your wreath. If you’re using a clip, simply attach it directly to the burlap. If not, use your hot glue to secure your accent piece in place.
You’re wreath is now done but you still need a way to hang it! So, cut a piece of burlap that is about a foot long. Then add hot glue to one side of it and glue the two sides together to make it half the width of your original burlap. Once you have secured it all the way down, glue the two ends together to form a large loop.
Using a generous amount of hot glue, secure the attached end of your hanger to the back of your wreath.
Allow your hot glue to dry and you’re done! Hang your wreath on your front door or where ever you would like it using a hanger. You’ll have a look that was simple to make and is classically cute!
Now, get ready for fall and enjoy this cute look that will brighten up you home simply!
Definitely will be trying this !
