The snow is finally starting to melt and in addition to opening the doors and windows to let some fresh air in, I’m also looking for easy ways to make spring bloom indoors. But who says you have to spend big bucks to get your home ready for spring? If you have a yogurt cup and a few other simple supplies, you can create a sweet spring centerpiece for just pennies. Take a peek below at how to craft your own spring centerpiece, perfect for getting you into the spirit of warmer days and greener grass. It is easier than you think and only takes a few minutes. Take a look!
What You Will Need:
Empty yogurt cup
Spring themed scrapbook paper
Easter grass or shredded green paper
Assorted pinwheels
Glue
Scissors
How to Make It:
Start with pulling out your materials! Good new is we were able to find all of these materials at our local craft store. The miniature pinwheels are around $1 each and the scrapbook paper around .25 each, making this craft one that you can do at a great value.
Once you have laid out your supplies, begin by cutting the scrapbook paper to fit around the yogurt cup. It is easiest to do this by wrapping the paper around the cup to eyeball how much you will need. Then, cut to fit and wrap. Secure with glue, and trim off any excess paper.
Next, fill the yogurt cup with a generous amount of green Easter grass or shredded green paper. You want it nice and full, almost over flowing. By doing this, it will help secure the pinwheels in place. Then place your pinwheels inside the cup. If they don’t stand straight you can always shorten the stem and add a dab of glue to the end. Then, press the stick to the bottom of the cup until it adheres well.
You can now display your easy spring centerpiece anywhere you please! It will make the perfect centerpiece for your spring or Easter brunch, and can even be a fun and frugal craft for kids. So gather your supplies and give it a try!
