Do you ever have that feeling where you want to make a little change to the way your room looks? Well, if you’re on a budget but still looking to breath new life into your room in little ways, listen up because I’m about to tell you how! You can make an old light switch look like new in just minutes and for just pennies. How? With washi tape of course! Washi tape is a great way to makeover that old light switch with any color or pattern of your choosing. Take a peek below at how simple this can be. In just a few easy steps, you can reinvent every light switch in your home!
What You Will Need:
Light Switch Cover
Scissors or exacto knife
Washi tape sheets (you want sheets, not rolls of tape, these will make it so much easier and cleaner)
Pencil
How to Make It:
Start by turning your washi sheet over to expose the measurements underneath. Lay the light switch cover on top of your sheet and trace the outline with a pencil. Easy enough right?
Next, simply cut out the outline.
Once your outline is cute out, lay the light switch on the cute out and trace out the switch openings. Once you have traced them, cut them as neatly as possible.
Once your sheet of washi tape is ready, peel the back off and stick it to the top of the switch. Then use your fingers to press out any bubble or wrinkles.
You can now use your light switch cover! You should be able to feel the indentations where the screws go and drill right through. In seconds, your old and boring light switch will be colorful and fun.
Give this easy and inexpensive washi tape craft a try. It is a great way to add some pop to your space in a way that is fun and inexpensive.
Love the light switch!! Love washi tape too! Fun project. Thanks so much 🙂
