I don’t think I have to tell you that Disney’s Frozen seems to have taken over the planet this past year. Even with having little boys, there has been tons of Frozen fun in my home. It’s not uncommon at all to hear my littlest singing “Let It Go” and he has discovered a love of all things sparkly and blue. So this year when I asked him what kind of ornament he would like to create for the tree, of course he said a Frozen one! Now, you guys know that my crafting abilities are somewhat limited so I decided to keep our fun ornament simple enough for even a preschooler to make. With a little bit of creativity and a lot of sparkle, we came up with the perfect way to add a little Frozen fun to our Christmas tree!
What You Will Need:
Clear Plastic Ornament
Bright Blue Ornament Flakes
Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
How to Make It:
Start by filling your ornament completely with the blue ornament flakes. I found that an easy way to do this was to make a funnel out of printer paper and then pour the flakes in, tapping the paper gently when they got “clogged up”. This step is perfect for involving the kids and while things may get a little messy, it will be tons of fun!
Once your clear ornaments are completely filled with the flakes, place the top back on to seal them in. Then remove any strings from your snowflakes and attach them to the front of your ornament with hot glue. You can add as many or as few snowflakes as you like and can even get varying sizes.
Once your hot glue is dry, your ornaments are ready to be displayed on your tree (I told you this was an easy craft didn’t I?). Simple hang them near lights using your ornament hooks so that the twinkle of the lights will reflect off of them.
And that’s it! You’ve given your tree a beautiful Frozen inspired fell with very little effort! Now sit back and enjoy your beautiful ornaments as your kiddos serenade you with “Let It Go” all season long!
