How are you planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Whether you’re throwing your own party, attending one with friends or celebrating with family, it’s essential to have the perfect glass to toast in the new year! This year as I was preparing for our celebrations, our boring old glasses made me a little sad. Just as I plan to dress up to ring in the New Year, I thought they needed to as well! So armed with my handy dandy glue gun and some jewels, I set to work creating the perfect glass to use in your toast, as a favor for guests or even as a hostess gift for the celebrations you plan to attend! Here’s how to make it!
What You Will Need:
Wine Glasses (Glass or Plastic)
Flat Backed Jewels
Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
Noise Makers and Ribbon (if Desired)
How to Make It:
Start by cleaning your wine glass well. Then start gluing jewels in a pattern around the circumference of the glass. Be sure to leave enough room at the top so that if the are used for drinking, your guests don’t end up with jewels in their mouth.
Once your first row is complete, start your second row, placing your jewels between and under the jewels on the first row. Continue this pattern all the way to the bottom of your glass. Once all your jewels are glued to your glass, use a paper towel and Windex to remove any stray strands of hot glue.
Once the top of your glasses are bejewled, it’s time to add a little bling to the bottom! Following the same pattern of color you used on the glass, glue a row of jewels to the outer lip of the bottom of your glass.
Once all your jewels are in place, allow them to dry completely and then clean your glass well to ensure it sparkles! Finally, add some noise makers and ribbon into your glass to turn it into a perfect place setting or party favor for your New Year’s celebrations!
Now go! Fill those glasses! Toast in the new year in fabulous style and enjoy knowing that 2015 is going to be as fabulously sparkly as your new bejewled glasses!
Happy New Year!
