With Christmas a little over a week away, I’m starting to fill my kitchen with seasonal scents and flavors in preparation for upcoming gatherings and parties. Every year during the holiday season, my family makes haystacks. They are the perfect combination of sweetness of crunch that we all tend to crave. This year though instead of making our standard regular haystacks, I decided to mix things up a bit and give them a seasonal fell. The result was pretty amazing if I do say so myself. So get ready to whip up this super quick recipe yourself!
What You Will Need:
1-Ten Ounce Pack of Tollhouse Dark Chocolate Morsels
2 Cups of Chinese Noodles
1 Tablespoon of Peppermint Extract
Crushed Candy Cane or Peppermint Candy
How to Make Them:
Start by melting your dark chocolate morsels in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir the morsels well and then continue to heat in 10 second increment until your chocolate is melted and smooth when you stir it. Add in your Peppermint extract and mix it in in well with your chocolate.
Next, add your Chinese noodles and gently stir them in with the chocolate until they are completely covered.
Dip tablespoons sized balls of your mixture onto wax paper and immediately sprinkle your crushed candy can or peppermint candy over the top.
Allow your haystacks to harden for about 30 minutes and then remove the from your wax paper and either place them in a storage container or serve them immediately.
This delicious holiday treat is a perfect quick and easy way to add some festive flavors to your table. Since it only takes minutes to make but if full of holiday cheer, it’s great for gift giving or simply serving to guests.
