Trust me when I say that I know I’m behind the craze on many things…including mug cakes. For so long I’ve thought they were just an adorable way to put a cake in a coffee cup for portion control! Silly me! This past weekend though I discovered that they are so much more. They are a way to have a decadent dessert ready in seconds and with the ability to customize them and add flavors you love, they are the perfect single serving dessert for any occasion.
Now, for those of you thinking you have to buy the online mug cake kits to bring this treat home, think again! Because I’m about to show you how to have an ooey gooey peanut butter cup mug cake at home in minutes!
What You Will Need:
{For the Cake}
1 Egg
1/3 Cup of Confectioners Sugar
1 Tablespoon of Unsweetened Chocolate Powder
1 Tablespoon of Creamy Peanut Butter
{For the Peanut Butter Filling}
1 Tablespoon of Creamy Peanut Butter
1 Teaspoon of Milk
1 Teaspoon of Chocolate Syrup
Whipped Cream and Cut Up Peanut Butter Cups for Topping
How to Make It:
Start by breaking your egg directly into your mug.
Next, add in your confectioners sugar, chocolate powder and peanut butter and stir your ingredients well with a fork until they form a batter like consistency (about 30 seconds).
Place your mug with mix inside into the microwave and cook it for sixty seconds. When you remove it from the microwave it will look something like this.
Now you’re ready to really make it amazing! Stir together your tablespoon of peanut butter, teaspoon of milk and teaspoon of chocolate syrup until it is well combined and then spoon a generous amount over the top of your hot cake.
Top your sauce with whipped cream, filling out the rest of the mug.
Finally drizzle the remainder of your peanut butter mixture over the top and sprinkle your chopped up pieces of candy on.
And ta-da! You have a delicious dessert in a mug that literally took minutes to make. All that is left to do is dig in and enjoy the moist and delicious treat that is so easy, you’ll want to make it every night!
Enjoy!
OMG! That looks so good! Anytime I can get a sweet treat in a minute I’m definitely going to be a happy girl! 🙂
