With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, I’ve been getting my craft on and coming up with cute and easy ideas that are outside of the box and filled with love. For as long as I can remember, I’ve made my mom a gift each Mother’s Day. It’s usually a picture of some sort that she can look at and see how appreciated she is in the year to come. This year instead of going to framed route, I decided to create a wall hanging that was all about mom!
What You Will Need:
8 x 10 Burlap Panel
4 x 6 Picture (Pick Your Favorite)
Vinyl Frame (4 x 6) or Print Your Own
Paper Flowers in a Variety of Colors
Paint and Paintbrush
How to Make It:
Start by printing out your favorite picture. Attach it to your burlap panel with hot glue, leaving about an inch of room at the top of the panel. Remove your “frame” from the vinyl and stick it over the top of the pictures, creating the look of a framed image.
Next, paint your two wooden M’s and let them dry. Once they are dry, attach them to the section of your vinyl below your “frame” using hot glue. Remember to leave a space in between them! Once they are firmly attached, use one of your paper flowers to create the O and glue it to your burlap as well.
Finally, glue a few of the paper flowers around your frame. You can really add as few or as many here as you would like to give your finished wall hanging the exact feel you want it to have. Get creative here and use favorite colors to really make this gift personal!
Once your wall hanging is complete, turn it over and attach a strand of twine to the back to hang it by and you’re done!
This unique and personal wall hanging is perfect for moms, grandmas and even friends! Just change the wording on the bottom to fit the special mom that you’ll be celebrating this Mother’s Day!
