With school back in session, we’re always on the lookout for ways to make school lunches fun! Today we’re sharing how we’re adding something special to lunchtime with fun printable notes as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars with Jif™Bars. #TeamJif
At times I can’t believe that both of my kids are in school together for the first time this year. This new development has made quite a change in all our lives. It has allowed us more time together in the mornings. It has caused the boys to grow closer. It may even have caused my heart to almost burst a few times as I watched them walk through the front doors of their school hand in hand. I have to admit that it’s been a pretty special transition. But it has also challenged me. Because while they love being at school all day together, I’ve had to come up with some creative lunch ideas to make their truly favorite time of the day even better.
You see, school lunches are a pretty big deal. Since both of my boys love to eat, it goes without saying that it’s their favorite time of the day. And I can’t say I blame them. I used to love lunchtime when I was in school as well. I can vividly remember opening my lunchbox every day to see what my mom had packed and being surprised with fun notes from her telling me how much she loves me. Since that little act on her part has stuck with me for almost thirty years now, I decided I wanted to find fun ways to add notes to my boys’ lunchboxes while including some of their favorite foods.
Ever since we discovered Jif™ Bars last month, the boys haven’t been able to get enough of them. Made with the peanut butter they know and love combined with a chewy granola bar, they are the perfect lunchbox item! Plus since they are individually wrapped, they are so easy for me to add to lunchboxes in the mornings! Knowing that my guys have come to expect a Jif Bar in their lunchbox each and every day, I decided to make lunchtime extra fun by adding some nutty notes to their favorite bars!
Since I’m a little silly (and I’d like to think amazing awesome) I came up with my own nutty jokes to accompany their Jif Crunchy Peanut Butter Granola Bars! I stared with a few pictures of (what else) peanuts and then came up with silly ways to say I love you that are sure to make my youngest laugh and my oldest groan. After creating some simple Nutty Lunchbox Love Notes printables, all that was left to do was cut them out and attach them to our favorite Jif Bars!
Using some twine, I simply attached one note to each of my Jif Bars.
It was so easy to do this the night before to ensure that I could grab and go and have their lunchboxes ready in the mornings. And I have to say, it was such an easy way to remind them how much I love them while providing them an item they love finding in their lunchboxes.
With my nutty lunchbox love notes attached to their beloved Jif Bars, all that was left to do was add my prepared surprise to each of their lunchboxes and send them off to school.
I knew that when they opened their lunchboxes, the first thing they would see was the recognizably bright packaging of the Jif Bars! But then their eyes would be drawn to my printable notes. They might giggle. They might share. But no matter what they did with the note, I knew that within minutes they would be enjoying the crunchy taste of the Jif Crunchy Peanut Butter Granola Bars.
Now, I know that every day when they open their lunchboxes, they are met with a surprise they love and a little something extra to let them know that while mommy may be at home, her heart is right there with them at school. And hopefully, as they grow up and become young men, they will one day look back and remember opening school lunches and finding not only their favorite Jif Bars but also finding fun notes that showed them that while mom might be silly at times, she’ll never forget to tell them how much they are loved.
Are you ready to pack a little love inside your kiddo’s lunch boxes? If so, start with the taste you know and love in a form they won’t be able to get enough of! Start with Jif Bars!
