Every once in a while, a movie comes along that allows me to share my own childhood with my children. When this happens, it’s a big deal. And it requires some serious food and fun. So when Tyson Foods asked me to partner with them for a sponsored post sharing how I’m getting my boys excited for The Peanuts Movie, I kinda sorta did the Snoopy dance. Then I gathered my gang and created a night of crafts, food and Peanuts fun!
Chances are you know that The Peanuts Movie is out (be sure to check out the trailer HERE). Chances are even better that you’re as excited about it (if not even more excited) than your kiddos because you know that the classic Peanuts characters of your youth are coming to the big screen for a whole new generation. In our home, the excitement is high and we know that a momentous event like this requires a few things. It requires dusting off the classic PEANUTS MOVIES and introducing favorite characters like Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy to your kids. It requires making a fun recipe that ties in with the movie. And it requires getting a little crafty. And guess what? We did all of those things!
You see, this past week I decided it was time to school my kiddos in the Peanuts fun. Now my oldest already knows about the Peanuts Gang but my little guy? Well, this is a whole new magical world to him. And in honor of his introduction, we decided to watch classic Peanuts movies, make a delicious Peanuts themed snack and whip up a little craft.
Since we already knew that Tyson Foods is an official partner with The Peanuts Movie and since Tyson® products just happen to be a favorite in our home, I decided to head to Sam’s Club and stock up on great eats for a night full of fun!
After locating both the 3 pound bag of Tyson® Crispy Strips and the 5 pound bag of Tyson® Chicken Nuggets, I was ready to feed my hungry gang. After all, these delicious bags of chicken goodness are made with 100% all natural ingredients, pack tons of protein, are easy to prepare and boast plenty of food for lots of hungry mouths. Knowing that a Tyson® meal was sure to thrill my guys, I set out to take things one step further and create a fun Peanuts Movie themed Flying Ace’s Bone snack for them.
To start my Flying Ace’s Bone snack, I laid out my Tyson® Crispy Strips on a baking pan.
After arranging my strips in the perfect order, I put them in the oven on 400 degrees for eight minutes.
After eight minutes, I removed them from the oven and popped open a can of croissant strips. After rolling each one out, I placed a Tyson® Crispy Strip on the fat part of each strip.
Then I simply rolled my strip around my chicken, securing the end.
Back into the oven they went for an additional ten minutes and at the end of their cooking time, I pulled out a hot, delicious and Snoopy worthy snack that was perfect for pairing with our classic Peanut Movie fun!
But I didn’t stop there! Because while I knew this snack would fill my guys up, I wanted to get a little crafty too! Knowing that we’d need napkins to go with our fun Flying Ace Snoopy snack, I quickly set to work creating some kid-friendly Snoopy napkin holders.
Step one was cutting circles out of white foam paper.
Next I cut a slightly larger circle out of black foam paper and then cut each side off to form ears. After quickly attaching my ears to my white circles, I drew on a simple face to complete Snoopy’s look.
All that was left to do was cut one more strip of white foam and create a circle out of it. Then I secured my circle on the back of my Snoopy to stick the napkins through.
After adding my napkin holders and Flying Ace’s Bones to the table, the kids were ready to dive into some serious fun!
Both of the kids were thrilled with their snack and their craft and I was thrilled that by serving them Tyson® products, I could get them excited about The Peanuts Movie while giving them a protein packed snack at the same time.
And once our fun snack and craft time was over, my gang was ready to watch classic Peanuts movies so that they could fall in love with the characters from my childhood that they were soon to meet on the big screen.
Now before you zoom off to create your own fun snack, be sure to watch the video below. Because in honor of THE PEANUTS MOVIE, we made our very own movie to show you how much fun our Flying Ace’s Bone snack and Snoopy Napkin Holder crafts were to create! So get ready because my oldest son is ready to show you why you should have a night to prepare for the release of The Peanuts Movie.
Now that you’ve seen all our fun, what are you waiting for? Be sure to check out The Peanuts Movie into your theater and make the most all the excitement by creating a snack that will bring your kids running!
So get ready. Get set. And go! Grab your helmets and fly to the Sam’s Club today to start your very own inspired fun!
