You guys know how much I love to create fun snacks. And it goes without saying that I know my little guy won’t be little forever to keep enjoying amazing treats. In fact, I already get eye rolls from my teenager when I turn a snack or a dessert onto something special. So recently I’ve been finding ways to transform my treats and create memories with my kiddos at the same time.
In the past few weeks, my youngest has been going crazy every time he sees the Norm of the North trailer come on TV. We’ve got the date marked on the calendar. We’re even been learning all about polar bears. And while it’s not likely he’ll have a live polar bear spotting around our area, I decided we’d have one in the kitchen with fun Polar Bear Pops!
I have to say, there were so much fun to make and actually surprisingly simple! I’m always worried when my ideas seem by far exceed my skills but honestly, anybody can make these fun polar bear pops! Here’s what you’ll need!
What You Will Need:
Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
Cookie Pop Sticks
Small Round Cookies (Nilla Wafers work great)
White Chocolate Candy Melts
Round Chocolate Candies in Brown
How to Make It:
Putting together these polar bear pops only takes a few steps! I started by pulling apart my sandwich cookies. Next I melted a few of my candy melts and dipped the ends of two marshmallows in the melted candy, securing them to the top portion of my open cookie. While I had the cookie open, I also gently pushed my cookie pop stick into the filling.
Then I simply spread some of my melted chocolate on the other side of my cookie, placed the top of my cookie back on and pushed it down gently to secure it. Next, I used a small amount of my candy melts to secure my smaller cookie to the bottom portion of my assembled polar bear pop.
I set my assembled polar bear pops aside and let the dry completely before moving on to my next step. After about ten minutes, when I felt sure my candy melts had hardened, I placed the remainder of my bag of white chocolate candy melts into a bowl and melted them in the microwave (use 30 second increments, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth).
With my candy melts prepared, I simply picked up each of my polar bear pops and dipped them into the chocolate, gently tapping them on the edge of my bowl so that any excess chocolate dripped off.
Once my pops were covered, I placed them on a piece of parchment paper and immediately added the candy nose, pushing it into the melted chocolate to secure it.
Next, I added each of my candy eyes, again pushing them into the melted chocolate to make sure they would stay when the polar bear pops were picked up.
After letting them set to harden for about thirty minutes, my polar bear pops were complete and I have to say there were super cute!
With a fun face that was easily recognizable, this was the perfect treat to thrill my little guy.
And I’ll be honest, they were so amazing that I just knew I had to share! In fact, I’ve been bringing a little fun to friends and neighbors by sharing this perfect polar bear pop that makes everyone smile.
So what are you waiting for? Head to the kitchen, whip up your own polar bear pops and bring a little fun into your home today!
