Now that school is back in session, I’m putting on my crafty mama cap and trying to come up with fun lunch and snack ideas that thrill and delight my littlest. Being in first grade this year, he’s experiencing a lot of changes. There’s more work. There are grades. There’s actual homework that isn’t just drawing pictures. With that in mind, I know how important it is to motivate him and keep him excited about spending his days in the classroom. While I’ve tried a variety of ideas to make school lunches fun, one of his favorite times of the day in his new big boy schedule is snack time (of course!). Occurring towards the end of the day when, honestly, he’s tired and ready to go home, this is a time when he needs a little pick me up. Knowing that he’s a child that’s motivated by snacks he loves, paired with words of encouragement, I set out to pair one of his favorite snacks, Welch’s Fruit Rolls, with fun, printable school snack notes to ensure that his afternoons are bright and he stays motivated to push through till the end of the day!
Now, I know what you’re thinking…there are so many snack options out there so how’s a mama to choose? And honestly, I found myself thinking that very same question as we entered this school year. Snack time is short (10 minutes max) so I need a snack I can feel good about giving my little guy in a form that is sure to disappear quickly without making a mess! Having loved Welch’s Fruit Snacks for years, brightening his afternoons with Welch’s Fruit Rolls just made sense! This fun new take on fruit snacks boasts fruit as the first ingredient and has 100% of his daily value of Vitamin C and 25% of his daily value of Vitamins A & E! Add to that the fact that it’s packaged in a way that’s super fun for kids to eat and it’s a perfect snack option that is definitely kid approved! But, back to what I was saying earlier about pairing our Welch’s Fruit Rolls with fun, printable school snack notes. As a mama I know that a snack alone is not enough of a pick me up for my little guy, but when I pair a favorite snack with a few simple words of encouragement, it’s a total score! Knowing this, I quickly sat down and created some Printable School Snack Notes.
It was easy to come up with fun sayings that were a take on the whole roll theme and I was able to easily put together notes that were colorful, easy to read and perfectly sized to attach to the front of my Welch’s Fruit Rolls.
After printing out my notes and laying out my Welch’s Fruit Rolls, all I needed to do was use a small piece of tape to attach my note to the front of my snack.
With my notes secured to my perfect snacking option that has the delicious taste the whole family loves, it was time to add one to my little guy’s backpack and unroll the fun!
The minute he opens the package and pulls out his Berry Welch’s Fruit Roll, his day gets so much better! With easy phrases on the printable school snack notes, he’s able to read a few encouraging words and then open the package to reveal the delicious roll that’s inside!
Whether he chooses to stretch it, break it or eat it inch by inch, I’m guaranteed that I’ve sent the perfect afternoon school snack to help make his days delicious!
Now that I’ve started packing Welch’s Fruit Rolls and my printable school snack notes in his book bag each and every day, he tells me that he looks forward to pulling it out, seeing what it says, and having a snack that everyone in his class wants! In fact, he doesn’t even complain about the extra school work anymore because by doing it well, he’s earning praise and a perfect snack each and every day!
