It’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is this week. I’ll be the first to admit that it snuck up on me this year and I’m scrambling a little bit for last minute gifts. Since you all know that I’m a DIY gal any time I can be, of course I’m whipping up something decadent to give out as Valentine’s Day gifts! Now, well all know that chocolate is a must for Valentine’s Day but that doesn’t mean everyone will be eating it! Instead, try gifting this rich and creamy DIY Chocolate Body Butter that only takes minutes to make and is a gift that can be indulged in for months to come!
This easy-to make DIY Chocolate Body Butter makes a perfect last minute Valentine’s Day gift for friends, your significant other or yourself! Here’s how to make it!
What You Will Need
1 Cup of Coconut OIl
1/2 Cup of Shea Butter
1/2 Cup of Beeswax Pellets
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
4 Drops of Vitamin E Oil
3 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
How to Make It
This body butter is so simple to make and let me say, it will have you drooling! To start, I added my coconut oil, Shea butter and beeswax pellets to a double boiler pan and placed it over medium heat, stirring it occasionally until my ingredients were completely melted.
Once melted, I removed my pan from the heat and poured it into a glass or metal mixing bowl and allowed it to cool at room temperature for about ten minutes. Once I had cooled the mixture for ten minutes at room temperature, I placed the bowl in the refrigerator and cooled it for an additional fifteen minutes, or until the top started to solidify, looking something like this.
Next, using an electric mixer, I whipped the mixture at high speed for two to three minutes. Then I added the Vanilla, Vitamin E oil and cocoa powser and whipped it for an additional two minutes.
After transferring my prepared DIY Chocolate Body Butter to a glass airtight container, it was ready to be gifted to the special people on my Valentine’s Day list.
This decadent gift can be enjoyed for up to three months by spreading the thick, luxurious chocolate body butter to dry skin problem areas in place of lotion.
It’s a perfect way to give a decadent gift this Valentine’s Day that can be enjoyed for some time to come!
