It’s no secret that Ollie is an important part of my family. He’s almost like my third child and I’ll be honest, I’m pretty picky about his care. For me, staying on top of his health means that Ollie will be with my family for many years to come. However, it’s easy to buy into the thought process that if he’s going to his regular check-ups and getting exercise, that’s all I need to do. However, you guys all know that I’m an over-achiever and for me, doing just enough has never been OK….with my family or my precious pup. While I definitely make preventative care an important part of his life, I’ve been discovering that to keep him feeling his best and keeping up with our family, it’s equally important to detox his tiny body just as I do for the rest of my family. This simple practice, which I’ll tell you more about below, is one of the my simple ways to improve your dog’s health!
Now, as I hinted above, a 10-day detox for my pup using Supreme Source® pet food is my newest way to ensure that Ollie always looks and feels his best. But before we go to why and how I’m doing his doggie detox, let me share a few additional ways that I’m working to improve his health.
Vet Visits on Time
Just as I do with my kiddos, I keep Ollie on schedule for his visits to the doggy doctor! By keeping his shots up to date and letting them check his weight and health quarterly, I’m giving him the best chance at living his healthiest life.
Admittedly, Ollie is a small pup and doesn’t require miles of walking each day. However, I can get too used to his licks and cuddles and forget that for him, 30 minutes of exercise twice a day is an important part of keeping him healthy.
Brushing His Teeth
Truth: I had never really thought too much about brushing my pup’s teeth but Ollie’s mouth needs to be kept clean in order for him to stay healthy. He’s not always the most agreeable with the process but by brushing his teeth a few times a week, I’m making sure that his oral care contributes to his overall health.
Giving Him Time to Rest
I’ll admit that my family lives a pretty busy lifestyle but having time for Ollie to just rest and chill out is so important to his well-being. He loves to lay near one of the windows and watch the squirrels jump from tree to tree and I’ve discovered that allowing him to do that helps keep him happy and healthy.
While the four ways I’ve mentioned above are working well for us when it comes to keeping Ollie healthy, I’ve recently discovered that there is something more than I can do! Everyone knows that detoxing our bodies is all the rage right now. Whether through juicing, detox tea or raw diets, there are many ways for us humans to get rid of the “ick” in our bodies to help us feel better. I personally do a detox once a month and do a modified version for my children that helps to keep their bodies functioning well. So, it’s only makes sense that I should do the same for Ollie!
Why and How to Detox Your Dog
PLEASE NOTE: The information I’m about to share is not intended to substitute for medical advice or treatment. It is always recommended that you consult your veterinarian or a qualified medical professional for your pets. The information and products discussed below are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical problems.
Since I’ve always loved the way my body feels after a detox, I was thrilled when I discovered that I could do a doggy detox for Ollie to improve his mind, body and soul in just 10-days using Supreme Source® Pet Food! This food is a premium, grain-free, superfood diet that’s packed with healthy enzymes and prebiotics to cleanse and rejuvenate my four-legged friend, inside and out! I recently picked Ollie up a bag of Supreme Source® Grain Free Lamb Meal & Potato Dry pet food at Food Lion and am getting ready to begin his cleanse!
You see, lately Ollie hasn’t seemed as energetic and I know that his little body needs a reset, which is exactly what I can give him by using Supreme Source® pet food! This great tasting, Ollie-approved food is grain free (no corn, no wheat and no soy) and contains no artificial flavors or colors! Instead, it boasts a healthy blend of fruits and veggies, which are natural sources of potassium, fiber, vitamins and minerals! And the best part is, Ollie LOVES the taste of it!
The minute I poured it into his bowl, he started chowing down and that’s really saying something because, I’ll admit, Ollie is a little bit of a snob when it comes to his dog food!
For me, that means that I now have the ability to give him a food that I can feel great about and one that will help him to feel his best all the time! Over the next 10 days, I’ll be continuing to detox his little doggy body to help him feel his best and I’ll be back to share the results with you! I’m hoping to see him have more energy, be more playful and have a coat that looks even healthier. So be sure to keep your eyes open for the results of our Supreme Source® Pet Food 10-day detox!
