There are few things that I love serving up more than seafood. Having grown up at the coast, there is just something about a good shrimp dish that takes me back and totally makes me feel at home. While I love any seafood dish, one of my favorite dishes from my childhood is popcorn fried shrimp. Recently, I decided to give this classic dish a better-for-me makeover and came up with Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp! This easy, 15-minute meal has all the crunch of fried shrimp without all the fat and it’s oh so perfect for the coming summer months! Here’s how you make it!
What You Will Need
1 Pound of Shrimp (Peeled and De-veined with Tail On)
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup of Panko Bread Crumbs
1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
1 Teaspoon of Oregano
How to Make It
These easy Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp almost make themselves and they are a perfect quick and easy meal when paired with veggies or a salad! To start, I added my eggs to a bowl and whisked them lightly and added my bread crumbs, garlic powder and oregano to a plate, stirring the ingredients gently to combine.
Grabbing each of my shrimp by the tail, I dipped them first into my eggs and then into my bread crumb mixture, pushing the bread crumbs gently onto the shrimp to get a good coating.
After repeating this process with each shrimp, I placed my prepared Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp onto a lined baking sheet.
I then quickly preheated my oven to 400 degrees and cooked my Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp for fourteen minutes, until they were baked to a perfect pink on the inside and crispy on the outside.
After transferring my Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp to a bowl, I drizzled a little wasaba sauce over the top for a kick and finished my dish with a dash or oregano.
As I bit into them, I was rewarded with the crunch of classic fried shrimp and the flavor that I love without all the extra fat that comes from frying!
These Oven Baked Crispy Shrimp make a great appetizer, a perfect salad topper and a can’t miss summer meal that everyone should try! I hope you enjoy them!
