Thank you Brawny® Tear-A-Square® for sponsoring this post. Think of all the ways you can Put a Square There!
Now that spring is here, I’ve got my house cleaned, organized, and ready for the warmer days. I’ll be honest and admit that it was quite a process getting my home back to where I wanted it to be after the long winter months. But now that it’s there, I’m a little uptight about any messes that come along. I want things to stay looking perfect, but with a two sons, and a tiny-but-messy dog constantly wondering around, it’s just a known fact that messes are going to happen. This year, instead of stressing about it (like I tend to do every spring), I decided that with a little preparation, a dash of patience, and some Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels, I’m gonna take on all the messes in my home with grace….and without stressing. Since I’m pretty sure I’ve discovered the secret to how to clean up messes without losing your mind, I figured it’s only fair that I do a little sharing of what I’ve learned.
I wish I could tell you that I’m one of those calm moms that lovingly pats my child’s head when he spills a full glass of milk, or gently scolds the dog when he comes trotting in with his paws covered with mud, but it just isn’t the truth. I’m not the biggest fan of cleaning in general (shocker, right?), so when my house is actually clean, those little messes really, well, mess with me! I have a tendency to get flustered and, at times, even get a little angry. After all, can’t all these little people and animals living in my home see how hard I work to keep the house not only livable, but dare I say it, clean? So, knowing that in past years I probably haven’t won any mom awards for my reactions to messes or my practice of cleaning them up, I decided to mix things up a little bit and make this the spring where I began to clean up messes without losing my mind. Here’s how I did it.
Be Ready for Any Mess with Brawny® Tear-A-Square® Paper Towels
The right paper towel that allows me to successfully clean up messes of any size and caliber in my home is a key to conquering the mess and the stress. That’s why new Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels are an essential for me!
These new Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels have better sizing options that make cleaning up small messes a breeze, while still providing everything I need to clean up big messes as well. You see, they are sized into quarter-sized sheets so that it’s easy for me to grab as much, or as little, as my specific messes require.
That means that for big messes like that art project that turned into an explosion of paint and glitter, I can grab a full sheet (or two!). It also means that when the pup comes in with dirty paws, I can grab a fourth of a sheet that’s just the perfect size for his tiny little feet.
While the size may be different, the cleaning power of Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels is not. Whether I’m using a quarter sheet, a half sheet, or a whole sheet, messes don’t stand a chance when they are put to the test of standing up to the strength and flexibility of Brawny®. In fact, I have the same clean-up power that Brawny® has always delivered, but now I also have the ability to tackle little and not-so-little messes with just the right amount of Brawny®.
For me, that means that I’m staying calmer, being less reactionary, and knowing that I can handle any mess my guys or dog throw at me with the help of Brawny® Tear-A-Square® taper towels.
Remember that Accidents (Big and Small) Are Part of Life
While having Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels on hand is essential (and I do mean an absolute must) when it comes to cleaning up all the messes my family creates without stressing, I also have to remember that messes happen and that’s just life. You know, it’s funny that as parents we often don’t remember all the messes we made as kids. I was recently talking to my mom and telling her that between the craft-time messes, the meal-time messes, and all the dirt that gets accidentally dragged inside after play time, I feel like my little family is trying to undo the cleaning that I work so hard on. She laughed at me (she actually howled ya’ll) and said “Yes, YOU used to do the exact same thing!” Of course I corrected her and reminded her how perfect I was as a child, and she turned right around and reminded me about the glasses of milk that I often knocked over, the glitter glue that I left everywhere, and oh, yeah, that one time when I decided to dye clothes with pokeberries and knocked over all the squeezed juice in the dining room. It was a great reminder for me that accidents happen. Milk gets spilled. Crafts turn messy.
Pets leave behind a trail of dirt. And that’s OK. Because that’s life. So, now every time an accident happens that I need to clean up, I grab my Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels, remind myself that my crafty little butt was oh so much worse, and these messes are the things that I will one day laugh over with my own kids.
React Quickly (After Taking Three Deep Breaths)
Now, I know what you’re thinking….I just said that I’m trying to remember that accidents happen and then I go straight to react quickly? What’s wrong with me, right? Well, I’m not saying react as in have a hissy fit (I’ve been known to throw one). I’m saying to take action quickly after messes are made. Get right on in there and get them cleaned up before they spread and turn into a bigger mess. That means that when my little guy spills his paint all over the kitchen counter, I jump into action and not only clean the spills, but clean his paint covered hands (because painted handprints on the walls are not my idea of rustic chic decor!)
It means when my dog comes in from outside and the boys forgot to clean off his paws, I don’t wait till everyone has had time to walk through the mud. Instead, I act immediately (OK, after taking a few deep breaths and reminding myself that this too shall pass).
It means that I’m learning to react in the right way, instead of being reactionary (there is a difference) and simply jump into action to get messes cleaned up instead of spending the time I could be cleaning having that hissy fit reaction that I’m so good at. With these simple adjustments in the way that I view and react to messes and, of course the cleaning power of Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels, I’m no longer losing my mind and stressing out about messes. Instead, I’m making this the spring where I celebrate the memories of how the messes are made because I know that I’ve got the tools (and the patience) to clean them up quickly and effectively.
Now it’s your turn. Whether you’re dealing with kids, pets, or even husbands (yes, I went there!), clean up all your messes without losing your mind with the power and versatility of Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels. Look for them at a retailer near you today and then remember to keep calm and clean on, this spring with a paper towel that’s finally as unique as the messes that are made it your home.
Now tell me, what messes will you tackle more efficiently this spring with help from Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels?
This sounds like such a great way to help with cleaning up messes! You always need something like this as when you get kitchen roll which isn’t strong cleaning up can become a nightmare.

Mess is part of life. For those who still use paper towels this brand has always been a good one to use.
I’ve always liked these paper towels. They do get messed cleaned up. With kids and pets, they do come in handy often.

I love Brawny’s little sheets. Use them all the time. I don’t feel like I’m waisting paper towels.
I really like being able to use different sized paper towels when needed. Whomever invented them is a genius.
With 3 dogs, there are times when we rely on the convenience of paper towels to get the mess cleaned up as easily and quickly as possible. I prefer being able to choose what size I need!
Oh, we need this in our life! It’s messy when you have toddlers in the house. All the more when they love arts!
I love using them as napkins because they can be torn into smaller squares. Rarely does my 5 year old need a big piece!
Their paper towels definitely make clean up a lot easier. Messes happen. It’s all about keeping the paper towel supply stocked, right?
Great tips. Cleaning up is such a bore and it’s always nice to have items that can help make it easier.
