We’re getting ready for New Year’s Eve in our house and that means it’s time for some arts and crafts! Today we made our very own noise makers to ring in the new year. It was easy, fun and the perfect way to spend a cold winter day! Here’s how you can make your very own noise maker craft that the kids will love!
DIY New Year’s Eve Noise Makers
What You Will Need
Paper Plates (2 for each noise Maker)
Popsicle Sticks
Sequins
Pom-poms (if desired)
Markers/Crayons
Ribbon
Glue
Stapler
Uncooked Pasta
Start be decorating your plates. You can do one plate or both to have a front and back decoration. This is where you can really get creative. Add the year. Make it sparkle. Be as unique as you want to be.
On the back of one of your pates, glue a Popsicle stick. Be sure to give it plenty of time to dry before using it to hold your noise maker.
A fun way to add a little festivity is to add some leftover ribbon from Christmas wrapping. Simply cute your pieces of ribbon, staple them to the inside of your plate and then use your scissors to curl them.
Once you have completely finished decorating your plates and allowed them to dry, you’re ready to put the “noise” in. You can use either beans or pasta for this. We used pasta because it was what was in our pantry. Simply pour out enough pasta to make the amount of sound you want and lay it in one of your plates.
Now take your top plate and staple it to your bottom plate. You can also use glue to do this but staples are going to provide a much sturdier end result. You can quickly and easily hide the staples by lining the outside of your plate with sequins or another decoration after the plates have been stapled together.
After you have stapled all the way around to make sure your pasta does not fall out, you’re noise make is complete!
Now all that’s left to do is make some noise!
Whether they are simple for the kiddos or more elaborate for the adult celebrations, this is a fun and festive way to welcome in the new year in your own style!
Happy New Year!

That’s such a cute idea! Thanks for the tips =D
I’m a BAD mom. I’m not going to encourage my child to make noise on NYE. She’s loud enough without accessories…lol! Great craft though - maybe I should use this to wake her up in the morning!
