Ready to make your own DIY Coffee Sugar Scrub Cubes? Let’s get started!
What You Will Need:
1 Bar Unscented Soap
1 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Coffee Grounds
3 Tablespoon Vitamin E oil
Grater
Microwave Safe Bowl
Ice Cube Mold
How to Make It:
Start your Sugar Scrub Cubes by grating the bar of unscented soap. You will be using ½ cup of grated soap for each cup of sugar which comes out to about half a bar of soap. Unscented soap works best because then you can add an optional tablespoon of scented lotion or essential oil that pairs well with the scent of coffee grounds.
One your soap is grated, add it to a microwave safe bowl with the Vitamin E oil. Mix the ingredients and cook them on medium heat for 10 seconds. Then remove bowl from microwave, stir up all the half melted soap and put in the microwave again for another 10 seconds at medium heat.
At this point the soap should be entirely melted and have a liquid like consistency- though not runny. If it still needs a little more time, add it for 5 seconds, but not anymore than that. Then add the cup of sugar to the melted soap, mixing well, followed by the coffee grounds. Continue mixing until the entire mixture is like clumpy sand. Remember, the longer it sits the clumpier and harder it gets.
Spoon the scrub mixture into the individual ice cube mold sections, pressing down with your fingers till it’s packed in. The soap will harden as it sits and keep each scrub cube together.
Place your ice cube mold in the refrigerator for an hour to speed up the hardening process. Once the cubes are hard to the touch on top, pop each one out of the ice cube mold. Place them in a dry bag or jar and keep them dry till you use.
And that’s it! Relaxation has never been easier and has never felt better! So shrug off the holiday stress and get ready to pamper yourself with this easy post-Christmas beauty treatment that you can do at home! Enjoy!
