How to Make the Most of Your Weekends

Every Friday I’m so excited. The weekend is here! But then I blink my eyes an it’s Sunday night and the weekend is over. As I look down at my to-do list, I realize that I didn’t really get much done, I don’t feel rested and I am so not ready to start the week again. So I’ve made a goal to be more intentional about the way that I spend my time on the weekends. Here are a few tips that are helping me to make more out of my weekends.

Get Your To-Do List Done During the Week: I know it can be tempting to put off all those things that you need to do till the weekend but if you do, you’re going to feel like you had no weekend at all. Stay up a little later during the week, work in more of the things you need to get done and you’ll find that you have the weekends for what you want them for….relaxing.

Plan to Do Things You Enjoy: While you should get your to-do list completed ahead of time, you should also think about the things that will make your weekend special. Don’t just wait for the weekend to get here and hope for the best. If there is a movie you’ve been dying to see, plan to go watch it! If you’d love to go for a hike, commit yourself to in before hand. By planning the fun activities you want to work into your weekend, you’re less likely to waste your whole weekend deciding what you want to do!

Treat Yourself: I know most of us are on budgets. We have time constraints. But the weekend is a time for indulgences…..even if they are super small. No matter how you treat yourself, make sure you do something special every weekend. It can be as easy as enjoying an ice cream cone or as big as treating yourself to a dinner out. No matter what you do, make sure it makes you feel special though!
