I’ve been coloring my hair for so long now that honestly, I can’t remember what my natural color is. Now it’s not that I don’t think natural is pretty but for me, adding depth to my look with hair color is the perfect way express myself. While choosing a color for my hair is as easy and figuring out what look I want for each season, taking care of my colored hair can be a little more difficult. So when I was asked to participate in a challenge to get my color treated hair looking great, I agreed. While this is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Pantene Platinum at Sam’s Club, all opinions are my own.
If I think way, WAY back I “think” once upon a time my hair was almost black. Over the course of the years, I’ve turned it blonde, red and even purple a time or two.
You see, I express my personality through the cut and color of my hair. I know my exact look isn’t for everyone. In fact, there are days when I get up and wonder if it’s even for me. As I get older I’m moving away from some of the “bold” colors but even with returning my hair to what would be considered more normal shades, I haven’t given up the desire to color it.
Why you ask? Well, where I used to color my hair to make a statement, I now do it to cover the grey’s! Yup, that’s right at the ripe old age of 35, my hair is turning grey. But here’s the thing….I’m not giving into going grey without a fight. And while that means continuing to color on a regular schedule, it also means choosing products to help protect my color in between touch ups.
So, in an effort to keep my hair color looking great (and covering those grey’s) I’m going to be trying something new. Over the next six weeks I’ll be switching out my regular shampoo and trying Pantene Platinum Color Lock shampoo & conditioner from Sam’s Club! Not only do these products come in great Sam’s Club sizes that ensure my hair looks fabulous for many months to come but they also help provide color protection for up to six weeks! And since they just became available at Sam’s Club on April 6th, I’m going to give them a try and see how they hold up to products I’ve tried in the past!
And the best part is, I’ll be sharing my Pantene Platinum test with all of you! So be on the look out to see how this new Color Lock shampoo from Sam’s Club stands up the to salon quality shampoo I’ve been spending big bucks on!

I highlight my own hair, and to be honest, I don’t do anything to care for it 🙁 It does get brassy and fade pretty fast. I should check this out, it would be really nice to maintain my hair color and get more out of it.

Love love love your hair. I want to go that short again. Last time I got my haircut the hair stylist notice my underneath hair and told me her clients pay big bucks to have that color. It’s getting dark brown by the year!!! May just let it go back to its natural color.

I went through a slew of colors myself. My favorite was red but it was a BEAR to maintain. Now I just stick with what grows which is a brownish color with lots and lots of grey.
I had to giggle at you do not know what natural color is…I’m in the same boat it has been so long. I use Pantene 90% of the time it keeps my color looking the best.

Love your hairstyle, color and routine! All inspiring! Our hair does make a statement about our personalities, fashion sense and so on, terrific way to express yourself. Grays are problematic for me right now and I’m contemplating what to do, you’ve certainly given me a lot to think about!
