With the end of the school year quickly approaching, things around our house are kinda crazy to say the least. From Monday to Friday, it’s full on chaos trying to get to planned activities, sporting events and end-of-the-year parties. In all honesty, there are often weekdays where I only see my guys in passing and even then I don’t know what they have said to me. So weekends are really important. They are a time to relax. To reconnect. And above all to make fun memories that will carry us all through until the next weekend.
Knowing how little time we have together on the weekends, my goal has been to make the most out of it. To find ways to make weekend nights memorable for my guys and continue to build the family bond that often feels like it unraveling during the craziness of everyday life. To do this we’ve started having a family fun night each and every Saturday evening. Sometimes we play games. Sometimes we watch a movie. Sometimes we simply head outside and throw the football till our arms are tired and our hearts are happy. But no matter what activity we choose to reconnect over, it’s essential that we have a tasty meal to make it complete!
Knowing that no fun night is complete for my guys without happy bellies, I’m constantly on the lookout for simple ways to plan fun means that are a hit for every member of the family. But here’s the thing…in addition to being fun and easy the meals also need to fill up all my hungry guys. Knowing that pizza is a favorite in our home, I knew I had found the perfect food for any family fun night when I recently spotted 30% larger TONY’S® Pizzas at Walmart!
Not only were these pizza bigger (meaning that I could get my hungry boys full easier plus I didn’t have to worry that I wouldn’t have enough if grandma was in town) they were also made with real cheese and delicious sauce made from Italian-style herbs! That meant that we could get the real pizzeria taste we love in a bigger size from the convenience of our home! I was so excited about the idea of fueling our upcoming family fun night with this delicious dinner idea that I picked up TONY’S® Pizzeria Style Pizzas in the Meat Trio, Pepperoni and Cheese varieties! I wasn’t sure we would use all three for our family of four but at $2.25 per pizza, I knew we’d have tons of occasions we could make tasty at this affordable price!
After finishing the rest of my shopping, I headed home and stored the Tony’s Pizzas in the freezer so we could get through the rest of the week. Then, when the weekend finally arrived, I pulled them out and got to work turning then into a fun meal to pair with board games!
I started by removing my pizzas from the box and cooking them according to the directions.
While the pizzas were cooking, I whipped up some homemade marinara dipping sauce, ranch dipping sauce and garlic butter dipping sauce!
Creating my sauces was super simple! To make my marinara sauce I simply cooked two cloves of diced garlic in a teaspoon of olive oil. I then add five diced tomatoes, a teaspoon of sugar, salt, pepper and herbs to my taste and brought my mixture to a boil. After allowing to to simmer for an hour, it was perfectly ready for pizza dipping!
With my marinara ready, I mixed 3/4 of a cup of plain greek yogurt, 1/3 of a cup of mayonnaise and a packet of ranch seasoning to make my ranch seasoning sauce.
Then all that was left to do was melt some butter on the stove, stir in some garlic and all three of my sauces were ready to go!
Once my dipping sauces were ready and the pizzas were cooked, I simply used a pizza cutter to slice my Tony’s® Pizzeria Style pizzas into cubes.
Now, I know you’re wondering why I decided to cut the pizza into cubes but in my house, anything served on a stick is extra fun! So after cutting up my pizzas, I simply added some kabob sticks to my platter for a treat the boys were sure to love!
With my dinner ready, I called my mom and all three of my boys to the table for a night of food, fun and reconnecting. Their faces lit up as they saw the Tony’s® Pizzeria Style pizza ready to be turned into Pizza Kabobs and they couldn’t wait to dig into the dipping sauces!
With each bite they took, their smiles got bigger!
As they enjoyed bite after bite, I knew that the secret to making this night perfect had been the amazing pizzeria taste of the pizzas. And the added bonus of fun dipping sauces. And simply knowing that there was plenty of food to fuel all our fun thanks to the new 30% bigger sized pizzas. Because when all these things combined, it helped us create a family fun night that was even more memorable than usual!
With happy bellies, we played game after game while we watched the pizza disappear.
And at the end of our evening we knew one thing for sure. Family fun nights are tastier with Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pizza!
Going forward, as I plan our weekend activities, I’ll be sure to include the 30% larger Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pizzas! We’ll mix it up and try different toppings but regardless of what we choose, I’ll know that the great taste of Tony’s® is the perfect compliment to any family fun night.
So whether you need to reconnect with the kids, have a girl’s night in or simply want a delicious dinner that everyone is sure to love, pick up Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pizza in the 30% larger sizes at Walmart today! Then start planning a tasty evening that is sure to please pizza lovers of all ages!

Thanks for sharing, I’ve never thought to serve Tony’s and dipping sauce for game nights but I will now. My daughters buy these pizza’s for the grands and they love Tony pizza nights.
Pizza night is always a big hit at our house. Love your dipping sauce ideas. They would be a big hit to make games and eating work better together.
Everything is more fun on a stick! I love the idea of using all the dipping sauces.
If it’s on a stick or served in a tiny portion, we gobble it up. This looks like a great option for family movie night.
We usually have pizza when we are looking for an affordable date night! We usually eat California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizza at our house. Love the idea of cutting it up to dip in ranch!
This sounds like a fun family night. My bunch loves pizza and games so I know they would love this.
Nothing like a pizza during a family fun night. This pizza looks delicious and I will grab a few next time at grocery store
What a clever idea. I love how you cut the pizza into pieces. Everyone loves food on a stick! Your boys are just too cute.
What a wonderful family night! I think Tony’s Pizza would just make dinners easier around here… and boy do we need that!
