You guys, summer is ALMOST here! We seriously only have a few weeks of school left and while I’m so excited about not having to get up at 5am every morning, I’m even more excited about how we’re going to make learning extra fun this summer! You see, instead of thinking that we can simply skip learning this summer and pick up where we left off in the new school year, we’re being proactive about summer learning in a fun new way. While I was compensated for this post through The Motherhood and Brain Chase, all opinions and excitement about summer learning are my own.
A few weeks ago I shared with you a fun new way that we were going to ensure summer brain drain didn’t occur in our home. I told you all about how excited my tween is to take part in the Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge. He has already asked me multiple times if it’s time to start the challenge yet and I’m so looking forward to the day that I can pull out his computer and tablet, say let’s get to learning and let him go!
As if our excitement wasn’t already at record levels, just when I thought the Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge couldn’t get any cooler there are tons of new surprises that I just discovered! Since I know all of you are anxious to have your kiddos as excited about summer learning as my son is, I just knew I had to share with you why Brain Chase is better than ever and the perfect way to take summer learning to a fun new level!
Now you already know the basics about Brain Chase from my last post. You know that your child can go on a virtual learning adventure with a REAL amazing prize that one lucky winner will receive at the end. If you missed all those details, be sure to learn more here. But since I signed my kiddos up, the surprises have just kept coming! Some are exciting for him. Some are exciting for me. And I think you’re going to love learning about them all!
So, first of all, watch this trailer because it’s going to have you and your kiddos on the edge of your seat and ready for the adventure to begin.
Pretty cool right? I know in my home we’ve watched that a million times as we’ve prepared for the summer adventure of a lifetime. As if the adventure wasn’t enough to get you all excited, there are fun new extras in this summer’s Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge that are making it more fun and more educational than ever!
Let’s start with the partnership with Rosetta Stone! Now I don’t know about all of you but if I’m going on a virtual worldwide adventure, I need to learn a new language! And that’s exactly what kids will have the chance to do on this summer’s Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge! If your kiddos are interested in learning a new language, this is an adventure they can’t miss. They will be able to choose to learn one of 30+ languages of their choice instead of participating in the writing module and will have two lessons to complete a week! For my son who has been BEGGING me to let him take foreign languages for years, this is super exciting! And how much fun would it be for your kids to head back to school in the fall speaking a foreign language?
Still want more? How about a hands on experience? Throughout the month of May, Brain Chase will be hosting a 4-city Library Challenge. In each of the following cities, they will hide a voucher worth $1,000 in a local public library:
- Salt Lake City (May 4)
- Seattle (May 11)
- Boston (May 18)
- Orange County (June 1)
If you’re anywhere near one of these cities, this is a great way to get your child super excited and maybe even boost their college fund with a little extra cash! So start their virtual adventure the real life way with these Library challenges!
Are you excited yet? I know we are but I have one more surprise for you and it’s a big one.
So now…onto the prize. As I told you before, there is a REAL prize at the end of this challenge. One lucky kiddo will find the Sunstone of Cortés trophy where the key to the REAL $10,000 prize is hidden! And now, for the first time I can tell you more about this cool trophy! Measuring in at 12 inches in diameter, it has mechanically rotating components that open to revel the key to the major moolah prize! Want even more of a sneak peek? Here’s what it look like!
Now, I have to say, these surprises are only a few sneak peeks into what the Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge has in store for your kiddos! Seriously you guys, if you want to make summer learning fun, this is an adventure you can’t afford to miss! So how do you get registered? It’s important to me to keep my kids learning over the summer for two reasons: 1) to keep them busy and 2) so they don’t slide backwards over the summer and we have to start all over again. My kids watched the video with me and were really excited about the challenge
I think this sounds awesome. I am all for my kids learning over the summer and this sounds like something they would love.

I’m totally on a mission as a mother to make sure my six year old doesn’t get brain drain. We’ll be joining the library’s reading program and doing lots of things to keep his mind fresh and always learning.
I am seriously so excited about this. I’ve already registered my children and we simply can not wait to begin this journey into adventure learning.

This sounds awesome for during the summer months! We have been debating between doing summer camp or not this year, and I think we will be skipping, so doing something like this at home will be great!

Wow that sounds like so much fun and a great way to keep the brain active. The reward is super cool.
This is right up my middle sons alley! e would love this! What a great way for them to learn and make it so fun for them.
This sounds like a great program to get the kids involved in. Thanks for sharing it with us.
This looks like a good a good thing to do.
There are SO MANY reasons why it’s important to continue to learn over summer break! But most importantly is so our brains keep growing and growing.
I wouldn’t mind learning another language. I took French in high school and that still appeals to me years later. Brain Chase sounds fun. 🙂
I liek that there is a task at hand. Adventure games hold my kids attention more than just boring games with no thought put into them
Summer is alot of fun, but I want to make sure that my daughter continues to learn. If it’s fun, even better!
It’s important to keep my kids learning during the summer. I don’t want them to forget everything come fall!
