There are many things about motherhood that I didn’t know going into it. I guess that’s understandable considering I was 22 years old when I became a mom for the first time. But as I look back over the last thirteen years of parenting, it’s easy to see that I’ve learned many lessons. I’ve learned that parenting is hard, but it’s without a doubt the most important job I’ll ever hold. I’ve learned that it’s easy to love your child regardless but difficult at times for them to understand that love requires making difficult choices. I’ve learned that no matter how prepared I felt I was for my second child, each day brings new surprises. And I’ve learned that once you grow a human being under you heart, your life (and your body) are never the same.
Knowing that this job of being mom requires me to wear many hats and be prepared for any number of situations, I’ve learned that the ability to deal with the unexpected is essential. More importantly, the ability to deal with changes to my body while juggling my mom role and retaining my ability to feel like a woman has become a top priority in my life. You see, I’m a mom who wants to jump on the trampoline with my kids and still be able to transform perfectly for an evening out with girlfriends. I’m a mom who wants to run fearlessly into life but still look great on date night with my hubby. All in all, I’m just a mom who wants to always look and feel my best and that means always being prepared to transform myself at a moment’s notice and keep unexpected post-pregnancy light bladder leakage from slowing me down with an easy to make confidence kit.
Now, I’ll admit that every mom is going to be different when it comes to choosing the essential items in her confidence kit. Lip gloss and mascara may not make you feel like you can rule the world…but it sure does for me. And while I’m more than excited to show you the items that make me specifically feel like a supermom, there is one item that I think EVERY mom needs in her confidence kit and that’s Poise Thin Shape bladder leakage pads.
I know, I know….you’re thinking don’t go there Jeannette. But I think it’s time to bravely talk about the fact that after growing babies who somehow magically think their mama’s bladder is a soccer ball, it’s important to always be prepared. In fact, more and more as I’ve talked to other moms about this issue, they have at first turned red and then said, “Well, yeah…I deal with bladder leakage occasionally but we DON’T talk about it do we?”. And the answer is now a resounding yes! I do talk about it - without embarrassment - becauase, ladies, it’s a fact of life and MANY of us mamas are dealing with it. So instead of hiding from the issues, I’m being proactive and making sure that I’m always prepared.
And yes, that means making sure my confidence kit is always stocked with Poise Thin Shape Pads from Kroger. With their discreet individual packaging that looks very similar to another product us moms need, it’s easy to store them in my confidence kit and always be prepared for moments when I may need them. Like when I’m chasing the kids at the park. Or trying my hardest to get in shape on the treadmill at the gym. Or even laughing hysterically at something one of my girlfriends said. Because in those moments, while I’d like to pretend there is never an issue, sometimes there is and now, instead of letting that slow me down, I’m ensuring I’m prepared for everything life throws at me…even bladder leakage.
Having Poise Thin Shape Pads on my side ensures me that I won’t have to worry about leaks and can instead focus on living every moment with confidence. And that means I can make more of the other items in my confidence kit because once I’m sure leaks won’t stop me from living my life to the fullest, it’s time to look at confident as I feel.
In addition to my essential Poise Thin Shape pad, I keep my everyday essentials like hairspray (hey, I’m a Southern girl and we go big or go home when it comes to hair), makeup brushes to ensure my skin is always flawless and mascara (because really, if you have your mascara on you can face the world) in my bag so that it’s easy for me to transition from the park to a friend’s house or even a night out on the town with very little effort.
Add to those essentials is a little lip gloss and some hair pins for my wind blown hair and wa-la; it’s easy to have the confidence to live my life on my terms and transform from mommy mode to woman mode in the blink of an eye. And while these may seem like such little things to always have on hand, I’ve discovered that in my life as a mom, they make all the difference in the world. They ensure that I don’t have to be afraid to join in jumping rope with my kids. And I don’t have to worry that doing so will keep me from being prepared to put my best face forward later in the day. Because with my on-the-go confidence kit, I’m ensuring that while life as a mom always brings the unexpected, I can tackle it and still feel like the woman that I want to be.
So there you have it….my admission that sometimes it takes a little work to feel confident as a mom and a woman. But by acknowledging this and always being prepared no matter where life takes me, I’m tacking both motherhood and womanhood in a confident, graceful, leak free way!

Thankfully I don’t have LBL issues, but there is a group of ladies in my zumba class that groan anytime a song with jumps come on 🙂

What a cute organizer for your stuff, unlike my purse which is full of unorganized things lol. I need one of these.
I love the idea of an on the go confidence kit! I remember TSA dumping out my purse on the table and my tampons rolling all over and on to the floor. I was mortified!
Poise are in my bag EVERY DAY! I feel like mom life has me always on the go… even when my body has other ideas. This kit is great- and a wonderful reminder to take a moment for self care.
Wow, those are so super-cute and guess what, if someone saw that little bag, they wouldn’t think twice, ha! I love it. Thanks so much for sharing. I am totally going to put something like this together
Love your bag!! And since we’re openly talking about it, can I ask a sincere question? When do you put them on - the pads that is. Because I have the occassional issue, but it’s not an everyday thing for me. It always catched me off guard - usually from laughing or coughing, and I can’t plan that!
Love the bag though, I need to find something similar to make me a confidence kit.

I think these Poise liners are a must for just about any woman, mom or not- you really never know when they will come in handy. And, while I’ve had no kids yet, I have experienced LBL after a UTI, so the topic really should be discussed more!
That’s a really nice kit. I would love to have one of those. All of those products would really come in handy too. Love it!

I love this! I can totally relate. I had my first child at just 21, so not much different from you. I’m only 6 years in, though, so I’m still not as confident. Every day I can only hope to reach 13 years of parenting without major fail…lol. I could definitely use a confidence kit (did I mention we’ve had 2 more kids as well?) Maybe two confidence kits for me…. lol.
These items are indeed perfect for a confidence kit for any mom. Now days more and more of us moms are admitting to the secret we all have hid from even our best friends. Poise Thin Shaped Pads I have not tried yet but will have to add them to my confidence kit along with lip gloss and eyeliner. Thanks for sharing your kit along with admittance.
Oh yes, as a mom Ive learned that it’s always better to be safe than caught unprepared. The confidence kit is a perfect for us ladies, I would to get one of those and get my necessities organized.
I have a “kit” but didn’t call it a confidence one. And apparently I need to update it from when I was like 20 to now:) If not for myself, for other women around me. You can’t be too careful!

After 3 kids, I sure could use a few pads to carry with me. I love this discreet way to do that.
That’s a great kit for moms. Along with some Poise panty liners I would also have some hand wipes.
This is brilliant!! Why have I never thought to carry one of these in my purse??! Thanks for the idea!
