I’ve shared before that this has been my year to get healthy…to make real, lasting, sustainable changes to my lifestyle to help me feel better, go further and do more. With these changes in mind, I’ve been doing tons of research. Yes, I’m one of those people who have to have all the facts before I act and the more I’ve learned, the more sure I am that how I feel on a daily basis is tied to my gut health. Recently, I’ve been dealing with that weighed down, don’t have energy to do anything feeling and I’m on a mission to get rid of it for good! To do this, I’ve made five simple changes to my daily lifestyle and I can’t help but share them because the difference in how I feel is truly amazing!
Now, I know people are always suggesting making a million changes to live a better life and the truth of the matter is, I only want to do what’s reasonable and what works. While I’m more than open to making small changes, I need attainable goals and I’ve found that with just five small changes to my day, I can see a real difference! Want to know what they are?
Increase Your Daily Water Intake
Everyone is always saying drink more water and truth be told, it’s one of the simplest changes to make! Water has been proven to aid in digestion and help your body absorb the nutrients from food more quickly, which in turn leads to a healthier gut! I’ve made it a goal of mine to drink eight glasses of water each and every day and I have to say, the difference has been amazing!
As a way to mix things up, try infusing your water with fruits and herbs to give it flavor and make it easier to reach for all day long!
Add a Daily Probiotic (And Remember To Take It)
I’ve long been a proponent of adding a daily probiotic to my routine but honestly, I forget to take pills. However since discovering Nature Made Dual Action Probiotic + Energy‡† B12 Gummies at Kroger, I’ve had no problem making my daily probiotic a tasty part of my day!
Not only do these easy to eat gummies come in great flavors that I have no problem getting down but they also contain 4 Billion probiotic cells or CFU* per serving that helps support digestive health and vitamin B12 which supports cellular energy production.†
In addition to coming in an easy to eat gummy form, my Nature Made Probiotic + B12 Gummies help my energy with the inclusion of Vitamin B12 which supports cellular energy production† in addition to their Probiotic which naturally helps support digestive health†!
For me, that means that one easy (and tasty) addition to my morning can have a positive impact on my gut health! In my mind, it’s the smartest thing I can do to ensure to I’m taking care of my digestive health and making the most of my busy day!
‡ Vitamin B12 supports cellular energy production†
* Formulated to provide at least 4 billion live cells per serving if continuously stored in a cool, dry place at or below 75 degrees F (23 degrees Celsius) and consumed prior to expiration date. Storage and handling conditions can vary, and may affect the total amount of cells delivered at time of consumption.

Pay Attention to What (and When) I’m Eating
It’s easy to understand why what (and when) I eat can be tied to my digestive health. Processed foods, grease and foods that are high in citric acid don’t digest nearly as well as foods that are rich in fiber. Superfoods are always a great addition to any diet and plenty of veggies can make a huge difference!
In addition to paying attention to what I eat, it’s important to be cognizant of when I eat, ensuring I’m eating smaller meals more frequently and avoiding food prior to going to bed. Just by switching out some basic food group and changing the time of day I eat, it’s easier to feel better.
Make Exercise a Priority
We’ve all heard that exercise is good for our hearts but how about our digestive tract? Would it surprise you if I said I’ve discovered that exercise can promote healthy digestion when I’m at rest and over time can strengthen my digestive tract?
While there are so many benefits of exercise, it’s important to remember that just 30 short minutes of exercise five days a week can help you have the healthy gut you’ve always wanted!
Limit Stress
Without going into too much detail (I’m not a doctor after all), stress can cause inflammation of the gastrointestinal system which is not good when it comes to your digestive health. While I know most of us can’t avoid stress completely, I think it is important to try to limit our stress on a daily basis.
More importantly, I try to react differently to stress and reward myself with a little down time each and every day to ensure that stress doesn’t get the best of me!
These easy tips are a great starting point for me to improve my digestive health each and every day and honestly, they are so easy that it doesn’t even feel like I’m having to make much of an effort to be a healthier, happier me! Whether you incorporate one or more of these changes into your daily routine, I encourage you to try Nature Made Probiotic + B12 Gummies from Kroger.
Easily available in the pharmacy section, these delicious supplements are a this mamas secret weapon when it comes to maintaining my digestive health and making more of my busy mom days!
Tell me, what are your best tips for getting and keeping a healthy gut?
