Yes, I know it’s still February but (thank goodness) Spring is finally on the way! The weather has been warming up lately and it’s made me want to get to crafting and come up with some fun Spring decorations for my home! I love adding personal touches where I can to my decor and it’s just stress relief to sit down and come up with an easy craft that adds the feel of Spring to my home. If you’re as excited about the weather warming up as I am, get a jump start on some Spring themed decor with this easy DIY Spring Wood Sign!
I’ll admit that I’m not the craftiest person ever but I do love when I can take a simple project and turn it into something really cute. This DIY Spring Wood Sign is easy enough for a beginner and is an adorable way to add a touch of color to your home! Here’s how to make it:
What You Will Need
A Scrap Piece of Wood (approximately 4 x 12 in)
The World Spring Printed Out in Your Favorite Font
Pencil
White Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Masking Tape
Scrap Pieces of Felt
Scissors
Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
How to Make It
After printing out my Spring Printable, I trimmed it to fit my sign and then attached it with masking tape. You can place your letters anywhere you would like on the wood but I pushed mine towards the bottom to make room for the flower I wanted to add.
Once my printable was in place, I used my pencil to firmly trace the text so that it left a little impression on the wood. Once I had traced the entire word, I removed the paper and set it aside.
Next, I used my white paint to paint the letters. You can go with a more rustic messy look here or keep it clean depending on the look of the finished project you would like. I let the paint dry completely between my two coats so that it wouldn’t run.
Once my paint was dry, I cut small petal pieces out of my felt with scissors and attached the pieces with hot glue above the i to make the dot. For the center of the flower, I just cut a small strip of my felt and rolled it into a spiral and attached it with hot glue.
Finally, I cut out the shapes of leaves from my green felt and attached them and my adorable DIY Spring Wood Sign was complete!
This easy Spring craft has added a pop of color to my home and has me more excited than ever about the coming warm months!

Such a cute sign! I love this very easy to follow tutorial - I have a question - how did you paint in the lines so well? What kind of paint brush tip?
