I’m having a hard time believing that October is quickly approaching which means it’s time to start thinking about Halloween! While (like any mom) I’m stocked up on candy for all the little ghosts and gouls that ring my doorbell, I’m also having some fun with the kids this year finding ways to add some unexpected spookiness to our home. You all know I’m all about making fun crafts with my littlest and these easy to make soap bars are pretty much a perfect way to have a little clean Halloween fun (ha!). Whether you use them in your guest bath to cause a little fright, make them as a way to turn bathtime into a spooky experience or even gift them to Halloween loving friends and family, these Not-So-Spooky Zombie Eyes Soap Bars are a fun Halloween craft that you have to try!
What You Will Need
4 Rectangular Soap Molds
1 Pound of melt and pour clear glycerin soap
8 Plastic zombie eyes
Your favorite soap colorant
How to Make Them
These Not-So-Spooky Zombie Eyes Soap bars are so much fun and they are so easy to make so grab your kiddos and whip some up today! To start, place your zombie eyes face down in each soap mold and set them aside (Need helping finding Zombie eyes? The ones used in this post were found at Dollar Tree but you can also look at your favorite Halloween and craft stores!).
With your Zombie eyes in your molds, cut your glycerin into small pieces and place it in a microwave safe bowl. Then heat the glycerin on HIGH for 30 seconds or until the soap is complete melted.
Once your soap is melted, remove it from the microwave and divide it evenly between two separate bowls. Now, this is where you can get creative and make Not-So-Spooky Zombie Eyes Soap Bars in whatever color you want! We chose purple and orange but really, whatever color is the spookiest to you is the perfect choice for this craft. Back to our soap bars though….we added the purple soap colorant to the first bowl and stirred it well to make the color even. Then we immediately poured it into two of the soap molds, completely covering the zombie eyes and filling the mold to the top.
We repeated the process with our orange soap colorant (made my mixing red and yellow) and repeated the process with our remaining two molds.
Once all of the molds were filled, we sat aside our Not-So-Spooky Zombie Eyes Soap Bar and allowed them to cool to room temperature (about 2 hours).
Then, all that was left to do was pop the soap bars out of the molds and enjoy this Not-So-Spooky way to get clean!
Enjoy!
