It’s so hard to believe that the holiday travel season has arrived. In just a few short weeks, the kids will be out of school and we’ll be packing up the car to head to grandma’s, the cousin’s house and various other holiday destinations. One of the things that I adore most about the holiday season is the fact that there are always gatherings going on and endless options when it comes to where we want to send the holiday season and who we want to spend it with. While for my family, getting to our holiday celebration destinations is half the fun, I’ve learned over the years that I can make holiday travel especially delicious with a little bit of thought and my super easy to make grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs.
I will fully admit that when I think of traveling with the fam I sometimes cringe. Truthfully, my kids are getting a little older so it’s easier than it used to be but I still hear “Are we there yet?” and “How much longer?” multiple times as we head towards any destination. While I’ve got more than my fair share of car games (think I Spy!, the License Plate game and more) in my bag of mom tricks, for me the most successful way to distract my kids from travel and avoid them asking to stop at every single gas station we see is to pack fun grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs. These easy to make bags that have delicious Jif® Power Ups™ products, fun water bottles with custom labels and fruit nestled inside are always a welcome treat when it comes to our holiday travel. In fact, the kids have come to expect these little packs whenever we are in the car for long so, with travel season up on us I figured it was only fair to show you how we make this fun treat that’s perfect for when we’re on the go!
These grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs are so easy to make….when you have the right ingredients inside! Here’s what you’ll need to make them.
- A variety of Jif Power Ups™ Chewy Granola Bars and Creamy Clusters
- Mini water bottles
- Melted Snow Water Bottle Printable
- Fruit
- Large Cellophane Treat Bags

- Ribbon
While these treat bags can be made by you to ensure that holiday travel is always delicious, the holidays are about family time so I love to get my littlest involved in making them. To start, we have to get everything we need to put these fun grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs together. Thankfully, we live close to Publix where we can find everything we need as well as an amazing selection of Jif Power Ups™ products.

If you haven’t discovered these delicious individually packaged snacks that both moms and children adore yet, don’t worry! There’s still time to stock up on them for all of your holiday travel needs. Jif Power Ups™ come in two different forms that are both fun and delicious. For the snack bar lover, there’s Jif Power Ups™ Chewy Bars in unbelievably good flavors like Peanut Butter Chewy Granola Bars and my current obsession of Chocolate with Peanut Butter Chewy Granola Bars (yum, right?).
For smaller hands, there’s also the option of Jif Power Ups™ Creamy Clusters.
Both delicious Jif options are made with peanuts as the first ingredient and provide the perfect balance of protein, fiber and good fats while being an easy and delicious snack that parents and kids both adore. While these snack are bursting with flavor and are seriously every peanut butter lover’s dream, one thing they don’t contain is corn syrup! In fact, all their ingredients are easily recognizable and blended perfectly to fill you up while energizing and nourishing you! Seriously, these are the snack option that my kids always ask for and one that I have no problem including in my grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs!
So, now that you know why Jif Power Ups™ are a MUST for my grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs, let’s assemble them why don’t we? To make this easy, I like to create an assembly line that includes my Jif Power Ups™ Chewy Granola Bars and Creamy Clusters, the small water bottles, my cut out water bottle labels that say “Melted Snow” (ha!), fruit, my cellophane snack bags, crinkle paper and my ribbon.
With help from the kiddos, I can simply go down the assembly line and put my grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs together. I start by adding my water bottle label to my small water bottles and securing it with a piece of tape.
Then I add the water bottle, one Jif Power Ups™ Chewy Granola Bar, one pack of Jif Power Ups™ Creamy Clusters and some fresh fruit to each of my cellophane snack bags.
Once I have everything perfectly placed in my bag, I use a small piece of ribbon to tie the top so that all my snacks stay exactly where I want them.
When it’s time to hit the road and head to our holiday destinations, I grab the snack packs, put them in a small cooler and wait for one of the kids to start asking if we can stop for food or complaining that they are bored or hungry. Then I simply pop one of the grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs into their hands and watch as their faces light up and their grumbles stop.
I kid you not, just having these fun snacks to fill their bellies and make the time go by quickly as we cruise down the road is a holiday gift in itself. Add in the fact that I enjoy noshing on the Jif Power Ups™ just as much as they do and I’ve go the recipe for keeping EVERYONE in the car happy during all of our holiday travel.
Now, it’s your turn. As you prepare for holiday travel, make sure you’ve got plenty of Jif Power Ups™ on hand to fuel all your adventure. You can pack the whole box or create my fun and easy grab-and-go holiday travel snack packs so that no matter where the holiday season takes you, your entire family has snacks they will love on hand to make the journey delicious. This is such a great idea! Kids today eat way too much junk. I love the idea of giving them fun and healthy snacks that they can get excited about.
