Tis the season for fun Christmas crafts with kids. Now that school is officially out for most of us, it’s time to think of fun kids’ crafts to make the coming days jolly. One of my favorite things to do with my boys is craft. My littlest absolutely adores anything that he can create and display and during this time of year, what better way is there to display a fun creation than by hanging it on the Christmas tree! Grab your little ones (and your not so little ones too) and get started making this simple yet fun Singing Elf Christmas Ornament.
What You Will Need
Brown, Green and White Craft Foam
Googly Eyes
Red Cardstock
A Piece of Sheet Music
Red and Green Craft Pom Poms
An Empty Clear Ornament
Ribbon
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
How to Make It
This fun Singing Elf Christmas Ornament is so much fun to make and it’s a keepsake that you can date and treasure for years to come. To start, simply stuff your clear ornament with red and green craft pom poms.
Next, cut a small circle shape for the head of the elf out of brown craft foam and glue the bottom of the circle to the front of your filled ornaments, towards the top of it.
Then cut the shape of a floppy elf hat from the green craft foam and glue it to the back of the brown circle that is already on the ornament.
Now, you’re ready to create your mouth. To do this, cut a tiny oval shape from the white craft foam. Glue it to the front of the tobbom part of the head. Next, attach a small red craft pom pom above the oval mouth to serve as the nose and you’re almost done!
Finish the face by gluing on two googly eyes above the nose and your face is complete.
Now, let’s move on to the music. To create this part of the ornament, cut a long strip of red cardstock and then cut it in half. Using an accordion fold, crease both of the pieces of cardstock. These are going to be the elf arms. Glue one “arm” to each side of the ornament.
Then cut out a small rectangle from the sheet music. Attach each of the arms to the back on the sheet music with glue so that they are joined in front of the ornament.
Finally tie a ribbon through the loop at the top of the ornament for hanging and display your ornament on your tree with pride.
Happy crafting and Merry Christmas!
