Spring for me is all about fresh starts. It’s a time to throw out the old, bring in the new and make sure everyone in my family is looking and smelling fresh. While it’s a given that as the weather warms up, I spring clean the heck out of everything in my house, I also do my best to spring clean my family’s personal care routine. If you’re wondering exactly what that means, you’re not alone. It involves a little elbow grease, a large trash bag and a trip to CVS. But in the end I’m left with a family that’s appreciative of the fact that they can go into spring looking and feeling their best. So, I challenge you to read on, join in and learn how to Spring Clean your Family’s Personal Care Routine.
Much like any other area of my life, once a year I take a look at my family’s personal care habits and make some fresh adjustments to ensure that we’re all living our best, being the most efficient and using the best products for us. It’s just part of my routine and a way that I keep our bathrooms from becoming over-cluttered. My yearly habit of spring cleaning my family’s personal care routine builds on my basic spring cleaning guidelines and expands them slightly to ensure that not only are my home’s bathroom areas clean but the people using them are too! So, let’s take a look at exactly what spring cleaning my family’s personal care routine looks like for me. I can break it down for you into three simple steps.
Step 1: Clean and Organize the Bathrooms
Truthfully, this is a no-brainer. Spring cleaning the bathrooms in my home is always on my to-do list this time of the year. For me, this Spring clean is a much deeper clean than my weekly (Ok, maybe bi-weekly) normal cleaning of the bathrooms. Here’s what it includes:
- Clean out and organize cabinets
- Replace contact paper in cabinets and drawers
- Use up/throw out old personal care products
- Bleach tubs/counters/toilets/sinks
- Wash/replace shower curtain and liner
- Scrub floors/baseboards/grout
As you can tell, this is an in-depth clean. It’s about more than simply getting rid of the dust, dirt and grime. It’s about cleaning out all those 3/4 used bottles of personal care products and re-establishing order in all of our bathrooms.
Truthfully, this step usually takes the longest in my quest to spring clean my family’s personal care routine….especially in the teenager’s area. But at the end of my efforts, I’ve got clean and organized bathrooms that are ready to be stocked with products that will benefit my entire family.
Step 2: Stock up on Suave Products at CVS
Once I’ve scrubbed, cleaned and organized our bathroom areas into submission, things are pretty bare. I’ll admit (blush) that we’re really bad about having a million empty bottles that have just set on the shelves or littered the showers so once I’ve got a clean slate to work with, the natural next step for me it so head to CVS and stock up on Suave products. I love that Suave has personal care product that are perfect for every member of my family. For the teen, there’s Suave Men’s Active Sport Body Wash that helps keep him energized and smelling crisp, clean and refreshing. It’s made with a fresh, manly scent with a hint of spice fragrance and lathers up nicely ensuring that he can wash, rinse clean and smell great, all without his skin feeling dry.
Once I’ve gotten him taken care of (because any of you moms of teen boys know that they gotta smell and look their best or life is just not OK), I’m able to stock my CVS basket with essentials for the rest of the family like Sauve Ocean Breeze Body Wash for the hubs (ya’ll, this fresh scent that features sandalwood with a splash of freesia is so amazing!), Suave Keratin Soothing Shampoo & Condition that helps tame and restore my hair with natural keratin protein for me and Suave Kids 3 in 1 Shampoo, Condition and Body wash for my little guy! For those of you who have littles, trust me when I say this 3-in-1 product is a must because it allows kids to wash their body and their hair in one easy step that doesn’t take long and always ensures a fresh look and smell with no residue. Generally I wrap up my basket with some Sauve Powder Antiperspirant that delivers 24-hour protection and a fresh, pleasant scent because, well, momming is hard work! I adore that I can restock all our bathrooms with personal care products that meet each of our specific needs with one simple trip to CVS.
Even better, right now I can stock up on Sauve products at CVS for less. You see, CVS currently has select Suave products on sale at the amazing price of 2 for $6 + Buy 2 Get $2 ExtraBucks Rewards with card (ExtraBucks Rewards Offer is limited to One (1) per household with card; offer valid from 3/10/29-3/16-19).
That means all the awesome Sauve products that my family loves are available for less right now at CVS! So, as you can tell, I stuffed my basket full and rounded the bases to my final step in my plan to spring clean my family’s personal care routine.
Step 3: Replace Empty Personal Care Products with Suave
Once I got home with my CVS haul of Suave products, I’ll admit that I took a minute to bask in the glow of sparkling clean bathrooms. Then I set to work distributing our new Suave products to ensure that every member of my home looks and feels their cleanest. I started by adding the Suave Keratin Smoothing shampoo and conditioner to my bathroom.
While I was there, I put my new Suave Powder Antiperspirant on the counter so that it’s easy to grab in the mornings as I’m getting dressed and starting my day.
Next, I moved on to the little guy’s shower where I added his new Suave Kids 3 in 1 Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. You guys, ALL I need in his shower was this body wash and a wash cloth. All those old bottles were replaced by perfectly organized simplicity!
After a little giggle about how simple that had been I headed downstairs to the teen’s area where I placed the Suave Men’s Active Sport Body Wash AND the Suave Ocean Breeze Body Wash. I figured I’d let him have both and head back to CVS to grab some more for the hubby because, well, teen boys need a little something extra sometimes and we’ll just leave it at that.
I literally hadn’t even made it back up the stairs before I heard his shower switch on and I happened to peek in and see him reaching out for this new Suave products.
Ya’ll, life is good. My bathrooms are organized. Every member of my family is smelling fresh thanks to our new Suave products. And truthfully I feel like supermom because I’ve mastered the art of spring cleaning all of our personal care routines.
Now it’s your turn. I encourage you as part of this year’s Spring cleaning routine to use up all your old personal care products and replace them with Suave for a fresh start! To get you started, be sure to head to CVS between 3/10/19 and 3/16/19 to pick up your select Suave products on sale. As a reminder you’ll be able to get 2 for $6 + Buy 2 Get $2 ExtraBucks Rewards WITH CARD Select Suave products (ExtraBucks Rewards offer limit of ONE (1) per household with card. Offer Valid 3/10/19 - 3/16/19).
So don’t wait! Give your family the new fresh Spring start that your house gets by cleaning, organizing and providing the freshest products around for every member of the family.

My in-laws always have Suave products and I’ve always found that they worked well and smell great. I didn’t expect my teen boys to care as much about body wash and shampoo as my daughter, but they did.
What an awesome idea! I was just saying that we need to go over and establish a new routine in our home!
