During the summer months, there are few snacks that my family loves more than peanut butter and apples. We dip them. We dunk them. We take them with us for all our summer picnics. However, lately I’ve been wanting to add a sweet twist to this summer time favorite. While I knew I could whip up an awesome peanut butter cheesecake dip in minutes and cup my apples into slices, I decided to make things even more fun by hollowing out my apples, filling them full of peanut butter cheesecake dip and topping them with peanuts. Meet what I think will be your (and your kids’) new summer obsession…Peanut Butter Cheesecake Stuffed Apples.
This fun summer snack (or even dessert) pairs juicy apples with slightly sweet peanut butter cheesecake dip in a form that’s perfect for little (and big!) hands. While my kids adore dipping their apples in this dip, they went wild over the ability to have whole peanut butter cheesecake stuffed apples to themselves. And the best part is, making this sweet treat was so simple!
- 4 large red apples
- 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
- ¼ cup of softened butter
- ¼ cup of light brown sugar
- 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
- 1 and ½ tablespoons of vanilla extract
- Apple slices and peanuts for garnish
- Cut off the top of each apple.
- Using a spoon, hollow out the apples.
- Add the cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, peanut butter and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
- Blend the mixture until it is smooth and creamy.
- Add the peanut butter cheesecake dip to a piping bag and fill each of the apples.
- Garnish with an apple slice and a few peanuts.
- Enjoy!
To make my Peanut Butter Cheesecake Stuffed Apples, I first needed to hollow out my apples. To do this, I simply sliced off the top of each of my washed apples and used a spoon to hollow them out.
After hollowing out each of my apples, I added my cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, peanut butter and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
Using a blender, I combined all the ingredients for the peanut butter cheesecake dip until they were smooth.
Once my peanut butter cheesecake dip was ready, I added it to a piping bag and filled each of my prepared apples with the delicious dip.
For a finishing touch, I added an apple slice and a few peanuts to the top of each of my Peanut Butter Cheesecake Stuffed Apples and my creation was complete.
This fun and easy summer snack only took minutes to make and as soon as we cut into the Peanut Butter Cheesecake Stuffed Apples, I knew we had a snack that my boys will ask for again and again on our hands.
With this fun snack, we discovered that while dipping is delicious, stuffing our apples for bite after bite of tasty perfection is much more fun!
