A couple days a week, I a babysit a little girl in addition to my two boys. And needless to say, dinner on those days can be a little hectic. Trying to cook with a 9 year old, 2 year old and 1 year old can be a little tough. But I want my family to have great meals that are tasty and good for them and leave their bellies full. And so on those nights I rely on my handy crockpot (AKA the slow cooker). And this slow cooker recipe was such a hit that I just had to share. So get ready for rave review from the kids and the hubby on this easy to make dinner that will leave them begging for more!
What You Will Need
Chicken Breasts (appropriate number for your family)
1 Package Ranch Salad Dressing Powder
1/3 Cup Water
1 Package of Cream Cheese
1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
Shredded Cheese
Noodles
How to Make It
Start by placing your chicken breasts evenly into the slow cooker. I recommend adding a slow cooker liner to make clean up a breeze.
Next, mix your Ranch salad dressing mix and 1/3 cups of water in a bowl. Make sure to mix it as thoroughly as possible for an even taste to the chicken. **Note: Your mix will be lumpy - there is really no way around that - just make sure it is mixed as well as possible.** Once it is mixed, pour evenly over your chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
After three hours, mix up your cream cheese and can of cream of chicken soup. I recommend warming your cream cheese in the microwave for about 30 seconds to make the mixing a little easier.
Pour the mixture over the top of your chicken and do not stir. You want to create a topping of sorts. As the mixture heats, it will seep down and around the chicken.
Recover and cook for an additional two to three hours on low or until your chicken reaches the desired tenderness.
When you are 30 minutes away from being ready to serve, cover your chicken with shredded cheese, turn the slow cooker off and cover.
Your cheese will melt, creating a gooey, creamy topping. While you are waiting for the cheese to melt, boil your noodles and set them aside to cool. Dish up one piece of chicken from the bottom, making sure to keep the cheesy crust in tact and place on top of your noodles.
You will have a tender chicken dish that has just a hint of ranch taste and a great cheesy flavor!
This is a huge crowd pleaser and super simple to make! Serve with a side of veggies and you have a meal the whole family is sure to enjoy!

This looks amazing! I am all for cooking in the slow cooker. You leave it on for the day and come home to a prepared meal. It’s almost like someone cooked it for you! 🙂 I am definitely going to this one. It reminds me of the Cheesy chicken lasagna I found on Pinterest. If you haven’t tried it yet, you must! It is to die for!

Does anyone know of a way to shorten the cook tIme?
Thanks for the recipe! I absolutely love slow cookers for easy homemade meals, and this looks tasty and easy to make. Win!
This is so easy, thanks for sharing! It works very well with rice. I also added peas (frozen, just microwaved them right before serving so they wouldn’t get too soggy) and it gave it some nice, green color in addition to the added nutrition!

Could all the ingredients be put in all at once? Wondering because I need recipes that I can put in when I leave at 7:00 a.m. and leave in till I get home at 6:00 p.m. It sounds delish and would love to try it out. Thank you.
There’s only one way to know! Try it out and let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear!
Mmmm!! This looks so yummy! Look at all that cheese! Thanks for another wonderful recipe!
Does anyone know the cooking times if I use the high setting? I have family coming in from out of town tonight and wanted to make this after work. Thanks
Hi! 3 to 4 hours on high will be plenty of time if your chicken is thawed. Just keep an eye on it as the high setting can sometimes dry the chicken out. Cut into it after about 3 hours and make sure you still get clear juices running out but no pink. Hope your family loves it!

Totally forgot to take the chicken out last night! I can I throw them in their frozen or no?
Yes! my chicken was frozen when I cooked this tonight. Turned out great. I did 3 hours on low…added the cream of chicken/sour cream mixture and then cooked on High for an hour. Needed it done before hubby went in for the night shift. (I used sour cream instead of cream cheese as I noticed we were out of cream cheese mid-cooking 🙁 . It was GREAT)
My crockpot doesn’t have a 3 hour low. I only have a 4 or 6 hour high and 8 and 10 hour low. So if I put it on 4 hour high with chicken frozen. Is that too long of so when should I check it?
If the chicken is frozen I would think you would be fine with the four hour high. If you cook chicken in it regularly, just use the same temp and time you normally do. Crockpots cook differently so go with what you know works:-)
Can u do this if the chicken are frozen forgot to take it out last night 🙁
Absolutely! Just cook it on a lower setting for longer to keep it from drying out:-)
I just wanted to let you know that I made this and it was very yummy! ALSO, I pinned it and so far I have had 188 re-pins and still going up! 🙂
Woo Hoo! I’m so glad you liked it! Thanks for the support and for trying the recipe!
This is beyond delicious!!! I used cheddar cheese soup instead of cream of chicken!! I cannot wait to make it again!!!
This is my favorite recipe to make!! Soo easy and so,so good..land I usually have most of the ingredients on hand so I can make it whenever! I prefer to use cream of mushroom to cream of chicken though…I feel cream of chicken makes it too chicken-ey lol.
Couldnt you just use ranch dressing from the bottle?
I am making this for the first time today however I wanted to add veggies! I put the mushrooms in with the chicken and I’m thinking maybe I shoulda waited til after the sauce was put on before I did that I’m going to add broccoli at the very end with the cheese I’m just hoping it comes out alright! I was worried because the mushrooms make so much water as they cook that I was afraid the sauce wouldn’t be enough so I added alittle ranch dressing hope this works!
Let me know how it goes for you! I’ve added broccoli before and just put it in about 30 minutes prior to the chicken being done - it was still crunch but cooked perfectly! Good luck!
