So after I posted pictures yesterday of me and J-Man enjoying our super delish Sugar Cookies, I got tons of emails asking for the recipe. Because I guess ya’ll know that if it’s simple enough for me to make, it fool proof… Well, in the spirit of full disclosure, these started out to be chocolate chip cookies but after a disasterous first batch, sugar cookies it was! And (bonus) they were lower calorie because of using some Domino Light sugar that I was experimenting with! So, here you go, a great, easy quick recipe that will make your house the favorite on the block! So get those cookies ready! Because if you make them, the kids will come!
What You Will Need
1 Cup of Butter
1 and 1/2 Cups of Domino Light Sugar and Stevia Blend
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
1 Egg
2 and 3/4 cups flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
How to Make Them
Start off by mixing your flour, baking soda and baking powder in a bowl and setting it aside. Then soften your butter (45 seconds in the microwave does the trick) and cream together with the sugar until it is a smooth consistancy.
Add your vanilla extract and egg and mix well. Then slowly add in your flour mixture. You can beat this in or stir it in. I personally found that for a thicker consistancy (doughy) I liked to stir it in with a large wooden spoon.
Add some oil to your hands and roll the dough into teaspoon sized balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Be sure to leave a generous amount of space between the cookies as they will grow when they cook. Now bake on 375 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden brown!
Remove from the oven, let them cool and then serve warm to the waiting hungry mouths!
You can really make these fun by adding your favorite candy to the mix! But with or without, this sweet recipe is sure to bring lots of smiles and hungry mouths to your kitchen table!

How do you think these would be frosted?

Wow, these look and sound yummy. I think I will ask the grand kids if they want to make cookies tonight. I like that the recipe is so easy.
Sounds great! How many will this make?
About 2 dozen depending on the size of your cookies.
I’ve never actually made homemade sugar cookies (chocolate chip? yes Peanut butter? all the time!) but the basic sugar cookie? Not even once. Thanks for the recipe and the reminder to put this on my summer bucket list!
How many cookies will this recipe make? 🙂
It depends on the size of your cookies. I like cookies that are a little bigger and it made about 2 dozen. You could likely get three dozen if you did smaller cookies.
