To say that I’m a latte lover would be a little bit of an understatement. While I’ve never met a cup of coffee I wouldn’t drink, there is just something magical about that warm beverage perfectly topped with froth that makes me happy. For years now, the hubs has known that on Mother’s Day morning, he better hop out of bed, head out of the house and have a latte waiting for me when I wake up. That’s right…I’m not so much a jewelry and flowers type of girl; simply give me a perfectly made latte and I feel more than appreciated. But this year, we’re doing things a little different. While in the past, lattes have had to come from the coffee shop and only been an indulgence when I celebrate, this year I’ve discovered that I can make things easy for my hubby on Mother’s Day (and any other day of the year really) by giving him the ability to make a perfectly delicious at home caramel latte for me paired with Salted Caramel Biscotti.
Now, I’ll admit that I get a little more involved in this Mother’s Day celebration than I have in the past but let’s face it….the hubs is the grill master and I’m the queen of coffee. Knowing exactly what I wanted for Mother’s Day and hoping to be able to enjoy the morning lounging around home instead of the hubs jumping out of bed to head to the coffee shop, I headed to Walmart to see if I could get my hands on the new International Delight® One-Touch Latte™! Available in Caramel, Vanilla and Mocha in the refrigerated section of Walmart with the coffee creamers, this little party-in-a-can is the very first frothing coffee creamer that is specially designed for latte lovers just like me!
The ability to create seven lattes out of one can makes the One Touch Latte™ from International Delight a totally awesome value AND an easy way to turn my favorite cup of coffee into a coffee house inspired latte! As soon as I spotted it, I knew it was exactly what I had been looking for. I quickly added it to my cart and headed home to put it to the test and turn my plain-jane cup of coffee into a sweet and creamy, fabulously frothly, foam-topped latte!
Once I got home, I decided that I’d celebrate Mother’s Day a little early by whipping up some Salted Caramel Biscotti to go with my perfectly sweet and creamy latte. A latte and piece of biscotti is pretty much my favorite thing ever so I quickly headed to the kitchen and mixed up a batch of perfectly delicious biscotti that would compliment my Caramel One Touch Latte™ from International Delight.
What You Will Need
1/2 Cup of Unsalted Butter
2/3 Cups of Sugar
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons of Baking Powder
1/2 Tablespoon of Coarse Sea Salt
3 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
2 and 1/2 Cups of Flour
1 Cup of Caramel Chips
1/4 Cup of Melted Caramel
How to Make It
This salted caramel biscotti is pretty easy to make and let me just tell you, with a caramel latte made with International Delight One Touch Latte™, it’s pretty divine and perfect for celebrating Mother’s Day! To make it, I added my butter and sugar to my mixer and combined them well, then I added in 2 of my eggs, my vanilla and salt. Once my mixture was well combined, I slowly mixed in my flour and baking powder and blended it all together just until it formed a thick dough.
After adding in my caramel chips and mixing them evenly throughout the dough, I removed it from the bowl, divided it in half and placed it out my floured counter.
I next quickly shaped my two pieces of dough into long, slim logs.
They were immediately transferred to a parchment paper baking sheet and brushed with the egg white wash from my last egg.
Into the oven my Salted Caramel Biscotti went for twenty five minutes, long enough to allow it to turn golden brown but still be soft. As soon as my timer on the oven went off, I removed the biscotti from the oven and placed it on a cooling rack. I also lowered the heat of my oven down to 300 degrees and let it cool off while my biscotti cooled for 20 minutes.
Once my biscotti was cool, I sliced it into 1/2 inch pieces and put the pieces back on my baking sheet and placed them back in the oven for an additional 12 minutes on 300 degrees. As soon as they were done, I removed them from the oven, transferred them back on my cooling rack and allowed them to cool completely.
Once my biscotti pieces were totally cool, I drizzled caramel and a little sea salt over the top and they were ready to pair with my perfect Caramel Latte.
With my biscotti ready, it was time to whip up my easy latte and let me just say, it doesn’t get any simpler than creating my latte at home with help from International Delight One Touch Latte™! I started by brewing my coffee and filling my mug two-thirds of the way full.
Then I shook my can of International Delight One Touch Latte™ vigorously.
Once my can was well-shaken, I was able to hold it above my cup of coffee and press the lever for five to seven seconds to create the perfect latte with almost no work! Check out how easy it is to create your own latte below.
I’ll be honest, I was kinda shocked at how easy it was to make my own latte at home using the International Delight One Touch Latte™! And the best part is, it tasted amazingly delicious and just like the lattes I’ve had to leave home to buy in the past!
I quickly paired my Salted Caramel Biscotti with my perfectly delicious Caramel Latte for a treat that truly felt like a celebration but was easy enough to make from the convenience of my own kitchen.
With the frothy, sweet flavor of my easy-to-make Caramel Latte and the hints of sweet and salty in my Salted Caramel Biscotti, all the was left to do was sit back and savor the moment as I let the feeling that only a perfect cup of coffee delivers wash over me.
As I sipped my latter and noshed on my biscotti, I felt truly appreciated….even if I had made it myself. And thankfully, after showing the hubby how easy the One Touch Latte™ is to use, I know I’ll be getting many perfectly made lattes in the future to celebrate Mother’s Day and other special days when only the perfect cut of coffee will do.
Now it’s your turn to transform your kitchen into a coffee house with the ease of International Delight One Touch Latte™! My husband saws these in the refrigerator case at Walmart and mentioned that he wondered if it was good. He passed it up so next time I was at the store I brought home some for him. He was shocked that it foamed up and tasted like a true latte. Super easy to make too without expensive appliance that takes up more space in your house. Totally worth buying.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker so I have to read up on what all the different types of coffees are. Went into a Starbucks the other day and had no idea what anything on the menu was and what I’d like to order…doah! From a guy’s perspective it is nice to see a lady so easily pleased on Mothers Day. Hope you have a wonderful day this weekend. Cheers!
I would love to wake up in the morning to that! It sure looks like a great combo to make my tastebuds happy as can be : )
