To say that I’m excited that the holiday season is here is a total understatement. During these favorite months of mine, I adore spending time with family, creating new traditions and savoring some of the classic tastes of the holiday season. I grew up in a family that had tons of traditions but one of my favorite ones was always having breakfast together. No matter how busy my parents were or what us kids were up to, every morning we found some way to start our day together over a tasty breakfast. Wanting to recreate those memories with my own children, it’s always been important to me to have breakfast as a family but during the holiday season, it becomes even more of a focus. Now, I know you might be thinking that I’ve got some pretty lofty goals to keep the holidays running smoothly while at the same time creating breakfast traditions but let me share with you all how easy I’ve discovered it is to create easy holiday breakfast traditions with a little help from some of my family’s favorite cereals.
Here’s a few simple tips that will help your family create amazing holiday breakfast traditions, just like my family has.
Discover Holiday Tastes Made Easy
While I want to create breakfast holiday traditions with my kids, I’ll admit that the holidays are an incredibly busy time in my home. For most of the season, the kids are in school and we’re having to work around the whole morning time routine. Even when they aren’t in school (holiday vacation and on the weekends) we’re generally going to family gatherings or attending events. However, I’ve recently discovered that being busy isn’t an excuse to skip the holiday traditions. It’s simply a reason to rethink them and come up with ways to simplify favorite holiday tastes…like with new Maple Cheerios from Walmart!
When I recently discovered this perfect holiday breakfast that’s quick and easy and boasts the taste of REAL maple syrup, I through it was too good to be true. Cheerios have been a part of our holiday traditions for years (we love to string them for the tree) and this gluten-free option that boasts the taste of maple in every bite was just the perfect way to bring our holiday breakfast traditions to life. It’s a quick enough breakfast for busy weekday mornings but one that’s also fun to enjoy on the weekends and with a classic holiday taste in each and every bite, Maple Cheerios have quickly become a favorite way to start the day throughout the holidays!
Let Someone Else Do the Shopping For You
While Maple Cheerios (as well as some of our favorite other General Mills cereals) have become a part of our holiday morning time traditions, I’ve been able to take things a step further and let someone else ensure that I’m always stocked up on this amazing cereal. Now, raise your hand if you do holiday shopping online. Well, why not do the same for your grocery shopping at Walmart? With Online Grocery Pickup, it’s no big deal when one of the boys fills their bowl with the last of the Maple Cheerios. Instead of having to pencil in an hour to do my shopping that day, I can simply hop on the Walmart Online Grocery Pickup app, add the items I need to my cart and schedule a time to pick them up without even having to go into the store. Seriously, I just pull up to the pickup sign at my designated time and one of the wonderful associates brings all of my groceries out to me.
This means that I never have an excuse for not having our favorite breakfast cereal ready every morning and even better, on those days where everything seems to be crazy, I can get my grocery shopping done without breaking a sweat or even having to get the kids out of the car….that in itself can feel like a breakfast miracle!
Savor Every Moment (and Bite)
Now that I’ve shared why Maple Cheerios from Walmart are a perfect holiday breakfast tradition and how to get them without even getting out of the car, let’s pull it all together with perhaps the most important aspect of a holiday breakfast tradition….sitting down together as a family and taking a few minutes out of the day to be together. While I like to keep things simple, I’m all about decorating as well so I love serving up my Maple Cheerios, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios and Peanut Butter Chocolate Blasted Shreds with a container of milk and a side of holiday cheer.
While the taste in itself of Maple Cheerios is enough to have us all singing fa-la-la-la-la, by adding some simple touches that really bring the holiday season to life and ensuring that we all have at least fifteen minutes to sit down as a family, I’m able to create a tradition and a memory that I hope my children will remember for years to come and start with their own families when they have them.
This simple touches take about five minutes and in truth, when paired with the perfect holiday flavor of Maple Cheerios, it’s an easy and always welcome way to start every day of the holiday season.
Now that I’ve shared how quick and easy it is for my family to create a holiday breakfast tradition with Maple Cheerios from Walmart, it’s your turn to download the Walmart online grocery app or head in store and stock up on your favorite General Mills Cereals like Maple Cheerios, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios and Peanut Butter Chocolate Blasted Shreds so that you’re prepared to start a breakfast tradition that’s totally delicious this holiday season.
Then, I want to know how you’ll use this perfect holiday cereal that boasts the taste of real maple syrup in every bite to create an unforgettable memory with your family!

My kids love Cheerios and milk for breakfast in the mornings. I haven’t noticed these flavors at my local grocery store. I will have to look for them the next time that I go.
Not sure why I always forget that Walmart offers this service. I have to try it. I also have to add this cereal to my shopping list.

I haven’t seen this flavor before - yum! My kids are swimmers and someone recommended cheerios for when they get out of practice late and are so hungry. It’s something for them to snack on before bed and satisfies their hunger. I’ll have to see if I can find this flavor.
